"This was an experience from a few years ago while I was in high school, so they could be better now. I came here whenever I was on vacation in NY and they always gave me a good relaxer. The owner would always insist on a trim, but she wasn't my usual beautician, so I always declined. The only time I said yes? Absolute trauma. They chopped my hair. I went from hair past my shoulders to a bob barely touching my neck. At least five inches of hair. It was devastating and it was an obvious difference from what I walked in with. When I returned to my beautician in my hometown, even she said that they had chopped me. The other staff tried to do emotional damage control when they saw my reaction. "it'll grow back. It's okay." I didn't even have to speak for them to hurry to reassure me. I couldn't speak. They saw it on my face. You know how I know she intended to CUT my hair, not trim it? She CHARGED me for a cut. She said "I'm going to charge you for a cut because I HAD TO cut so much." We did not start my appointment with that fact. We did not leave the sink with me knowing that. She did not START to cut and then tell me that. Nothing. She had every chance to tell me she'd like to cut instead of trim. So not only are you not doing what I asked, and not doing what you said you'd do, you didn't inform me when you still had plenty of time to that you were going to cut my hair. I wish my family had been there because I didn't know what to do or say but just pay. I left and saw my face in the mirror at home and just cried. I tear up just thinking about it. Trims do help your hair, but this beautician, this business owner, did not do my hair with care and consideration. She had a vision of what she wanted me to look like and she proceeded to do what she thought was best without asking me. I never went back."
