"Dr. Placide performed an ablation on me in 2011. Just before my procedure the nurse had given me pain medication telling me of the need to allow it to take effect over a thirty minute time period. Dr. Placide walked into the room five minutes later to begin the procedure and the nurse told him that she had just given me the medication. He replied his first patient had been a first time ob patient and he needed to make up time. I will honestly say the procedure was unbelievably painful. At the point I thought I might scream the machine shut off. This happened 40 seconds into the procedure. At my follow-up appointment the nurse told me Dr. Placide called the company which made the ablation machine to inquire as to why it would have shut off at 40 seconds. I told Dr. Placide at the follow-up that the procedure vas very painful. He said "you appeared to do fine." Perhaps I wasn't really doing so fine as the machine shut off at the most painful moment during the procedure. To add insult to injury, I received a bill for an outstanding balance after being told before the procedure that it would be completely covered by my insurance. My husband went into the office to discuss the matter to which resulted in me being fired from the practice and sent to collection which remained the only derogatory mark on my credit for 7 years. I would not have allowed Dr. Placide to treat me further and leaving that practice was welcome. In December of 2015 I had a complete hysterectomy performerd by another surgeon after seeing him for the same issue Dr. Placide suggested the ablation for. The surgeon stated my ablation had been botched. I regret stepping into Dr. Placide's office."
