"Exceptional, patient and family centered, responsive! While my sister's outcome was not the one we hoped for, our journey with Dr. Boggess and his team was phenomenal! From our first consult at the REX Center, it was clear that Barbra's care was placed in the right hands with Dr. Boggess. He and Kristen were informative, receptive and responsive and instilled a sense of control into the situation that we had not had since the onset of her illness. Their ability to coordinate multiple procedures on very short notice was incredible and so very appreciated. While admitted at Chapel Hill, we were confident that while we weren't physically seeing Dr. Boggess, his team was keeping him informed and that he was involved and aware every step of the way. The early morning rounds often included "I spoke to Dr. Boggess last night and he thinks....." and that was comforting to know that while we saw multiple physicians, there was a captain in charge of the ship. He was willing to think outside the box to work past the challenges involved in her case and tried to work toward a solution of her case. The time he spent with me in a consult toward the end of my sister's journey will forever be etched in my heart and mind. This incredibly brilliant and gifted physician, sharing his beliefs about life and death and taking time to truly listen to my concerns and my expectations for supporting my sister's wishes and making me feel that he was behind me and would support the difficult decisions that would lie in the days ahead was much more than I could have expected from that meeting. I am forever grateful that Barbra was blessed to be in the care of Dr. Boggess and his team during her illness. God bless him and the team, and all of those who seek his care!"
