Brookstone Apartments

"Writing this from an alternative account and name to protect my identity. I lived at Brookstone for a couple of years and recently moved out. While the first year was alright, the second year was not ideal whatsoever and I do not recommend anyone to move in until Brookstone fixes their security issues (as well as makes rent more reasonably priced). What Brookstone is failing to warn current and future residents of is that they have minimal cameras and security on site. Earlier this year, we kept on having a series of robberies at our community mailbox as well as sporadic break-ins into apartments. Several times, I was emailed and informed my mailbox was broken into with my mail stolen or that neighbors close to me got their apartments broken into. Initially, Brookstone did nothing about this besides saying they were looking into it and that the police was notified. It took several mass break-ins from the mailboxes just for them to set up a camera at the community mailboxes (yet, they never changed the locks, which seems to be something that should have also been mandated since stealing mail like this is a federal crime) and sent emails advising people to make sure that their apartments don't look uninhabited when they go out of town (not exactly going to prevent a break-in, either). They also decided to start keeping packages (such as from Amazon, UPS, and USPS) up at the front office instead of at people's front doors, which created a hassle for a lot of community members because not only did we have to be forced into awkward conversations regarding how much mail we had or what was in our mail, but we only had until the front office hours to get our mail. You can imagine that during a typical workday, it becomes a hassle trying to do so and there were several times that I would barely miss picking up packages that I needed. What really confirmed to me that I needed to leave this apartment community was that I got my car broken into (along with several other cars that same day). My car isn't new, I had my doors locked, and there wasn't any valuables in the car, but that didn't stop me from being robbed and I ended up having to pay thousands of dollars in damage as well as having to pay for rentals for a month (since the car was not operable from the damages and had to be sent back to a dealership) and paying off a tow truck to move my car from the Brookstone parking lot to the dealership; none in which Brookstone offered any sort of financial help with. The person who attempted the robberies was never caught, either, because there are no cameras on site. The sad excuse the front office had for these mass break-ins and attempted robberies of cars was that our brand of cars were "easy" to break into. Other than that, they were of no use to helping out and they also failed to email any community members about these mass car break-ins until further break-ins occurred. And again, nothing was done further to prevent this. On top of that, Brookstone has the audacity to raise rent to ridiculous prices. What for? Obviously not security and we never got any added amenities, so I have no clue why other than they could. But I can tell you that being a renewed resident won't change them from raising rent and that what I'm currently paying at my new place (that has more space, more rooms, more amenities, 24 hour security, and no recent records of these mass robberies or break-ins) is only slightly above what Brookstone were going to raise my rent to. If Brookstone wants reliable residents to stay, they need to have more security. There needs to be more cameras on site to capture these break-ins and robberies. And at bare minimum if they won't do either, then rent needs to not be raised as much as it currently is every year. Otherwise, prospective residents, beware that your security and safety will be at risk and to expect your rent to be raised more and more each year."

"Had a great experience living here. Prices are very reasonable and location was convenient - close to both 77 and 85. Staff were always courteous and friendly. Maintenance requests were always handled very promptly. I would definitely recommend Brookstone. Neighborhood was always quiet with very few issues. Mike , Lynn , Frank and team are second to none we were sad to leave. Great place and even better people. 10/10"

"Way better than I ever thought I’d get without paying $2k. A genuinely great place to live. The A/C systems are a bit old but it’s only an issue during heatwaves and it’s nothin a portable A/C can’t fix. Church next door rings it’s bells but it’s barely noticeable. That’s genuinely it. Everything else is amazing! So much space and a fireplace!! I can see myself living here for the next few years."

"I enjoyed living here and was a resident for 6 years. The community is well kept, clean, and overall, quiet. Might not have 1000 amentities like the other apartment communities, but I think it's better that way and has more of a "home" feel. They have a nice, spacious pool and pool area. The community is also unique with the fact that it resides within a residential neighborhood.This is better than living off a busy highway as you can see many people taking morning and evening walks with ease throught the surrounding blocks. Lynne and Frank are also amazing indivudals and will help you out with anything."
