"The qualifications to get one of these apartments, should be changed. Just because some people, especially Single Parents may have a job, getting child support whenever, not on a regular base, making ends meet may not be considered in the LOW-INCOME Bracket. It's so sad that all these apartments in Lenoir are classified as Low-Income and your rent for a 2BR/1 CHILD, a single parent will be paying about $600/650. That's not Low-Income payments. I live in nice housing development, (Town & Country Development), a 2BR house/full basement, big yard and the owners have houses in Caldwell, Burke, & Taylorsville. The rent is Base Set, Not by your Income you make. I've lived in the house for 10 yrs. now and my rent just went up in 2021 from $425.00 to $475.00. I work every day, 5 days a week. I applied for these apartments when they first built, wasn't making but $10.50 hr. and I was told I was Over Income, just by $300.00. Someone needs to think or reconsider its time to build Apartments that are Income Base, instead of Low Income. Senior Citizens do not even stand chance for a decent apartment any more."
