Mountaineer Village

"You better hope and pray that when you're waiting on a super important package for a class or your job that the leasing office decides to stay open for their actual hours! They seem to constantly be "understaffed" or "sick" and will send an email that they're closing 2-5 hours early about an hour before they close, and packages must be delivered to the leasing office instead of to your door so you can't receive your package when they close. They have closed early five times in the last 3 and a half weeks with minimal warning to residents, which gets super frustrating when you're waiting on packages that then can't be delivered until the following evening (assuming they don't close early yet again)."

"I have lived in Mountaineer village for three years and have loved it. The biggest thing for me is the management and the maintenance. Every time I have put in a maintenance request they come either that day or the very next day. They are not invasive and sometimes they will even replace things that I didn’t even ask them to. The Manager is SO nice. He gets to know all of the residents. On exam week there is free pizza and breakfast. Not to mention there is always a stocked fridge of soda and free coffee. The apartment is spacious and we each have our own bathroom. The price is a lot.. but almost all of my other friends who live elsewhere are paying even more than me but they don’t have a pool, gym, ping pong, volleyball court and fire pit like mountaineer village has. There is also two bus stops in walking distance so I have never had an issue with being ten minutes off campus."

"I’ve lived here the past year and have loved it. There’s a bus stop right outside my building and maintenance has been quick when there’s been any issues. Front office staff are also really nice and the manager even taught me how to tie a tie before my interview on campus."

"The manager is super nice and personable. He always talks to the residents despite us being college students and has a positive attitude. Maintenance is super nice and if they are late if you call they’re there in a timely manner. The maintenance guys aren’t invasive and always make sure to knock at least 3 times before coming in which is reassuring as an all girl apartment. In Boone I always hear terrible stories about the lack of response from the maintenance staff and leasing office but I have never had a problem with Mountaineer Village. I feel like at the office there is always something to do. Working out, pool, volleyball area, or you just come in and the news or a cool show or movie is playing. They always have snacks and the fridge stocked and the ladies who work there are also kind, sometimes you can just sit there at the office and chill. My only complaint is that visitors parking should be in every lot not just the ones adjacent and not be tucked away in a back corner. There should at least be a full back row marked for visitors in every parking lot especially when older visitors come it sucks to walk all the way back to your apartment and back to the car. Other than that I’m so lucky to live here!"
