"I have lived here for the past 3 years and I have loved my time here. Even before moving in, I was looking for a pet-friendly apartment on short notice and Sonia and the front desk staff did everything they could to keep me updated on when an apartment would become available. While I was living here, I always felt safe and the community was well-maintained. When parking became an issue for residents, they minimized visitor parking and changed their policies to ensure that residents and their families were prioritized. They also enlarged parking spaces to accommodate for the larger vehicles that would take up multiple spots. During my move out process, I misinterpreted my move out date and Sonia found a way to give me a few extra days and make sure I had time to move out. They truly go above and beyond for their residents and I would happily recommend them to anyone looking for housing in Boone."
"This is one of the nicest & quiet places to live. We feel safe . The grounds are kept tidy and well maintained. The maintenance department takes care of all maintenance issues. The only downfall is the rent prices. We now have to pay for pest control. I hope this helps. God bless."
"My boyfriend and I lived at Bavarian for three years in a two bed one bath unit (renovated). I absolutely loved the layout and our apartment was in great condition. We had pretty quiet neighbors and never had any issues with noise or partying. Never had to speak with the office staff very much, but Sonia and Yvonne are super helpful and responsive with any issues. The Maintenence staff is AMAZING, super friendly guys and always showed up within an hour or two of us putting in any service requests, often even faster. Literally the only complaint I have is that the parking spaces are a bit small with unassigned spaces so that can be a little frustrating at times, but truly not a big deal. There are almost always plenty of spaces still nearby if someone parks in your usual spot. It’s centrally located in town and easy to get everywhere via car or bus route. Overall I really loved living here and will miss it!!"
"I lived here for two years & enjoyed it, left with only small complaints. The location is amazing & close to so many bus stops + Walmart. I just wish they had actually assigned parking spaces for people that live here, but there is a lot of visitor parking! In the winter, the parking lot never gets scraped, which was really difficult when trying to get to the bus stop in the mornings. Also, the walls were super thin & my neighbors were heavy smokers, so it was hard to keep the smell out— not really management’s fault. Despite the small things, Bavarian is probably one of the best deals + places in Boone to rent from. Maintenance is super responsive & again, the location is really great. Make sure if you’re living with someone, you really trust them, as Bavarian signs two people on the same lease (at least in my case)! Also, it did not flood in my two years here, even though I was warned beforehand!"
"Lived here for nearly four years and hardly ever had issues here. Most of the issues I had with the apartment complex was in the last year. The neighbors I had were occasionally loud, but they didn't violate the noise ordinance. Neighborhood is friendly and isn't a problem on most nights. The only nights I had issues were people revving their motors at late night hours (sometimes waking me up) or people having late night parties. The bus stop gave an additional perk to the place, making it easier to transport to and from Appalachian State. The apartment I subleased into felt like there should've TLC done to it during my tenure there. However, I was originally a sublease (who lived two years prior) that had the apartment handed to me a few months later when they moved out. Some of my cabinets needed work on (they were falling off the hinges by the time I left), air conditioner needed to be replaced (blew several times in the summer months), and had issues with my ceiling downstairs leaking (bathroom was directly above the spot) and showing mold spots. Most of the maintenance work was done and completed in a matter of hours to days after the request, so they're fast on the orders. Renovation work, when requested, was out of the question, since I felt some of the work was necessary to fix the bigger picture issues in my apartment. Most of the issues I had with the apartment was brought up in the last year due to neighbors directly behind us. Their dogs would be excessively loud at odd hours of the night, occasional horse-playing at odd hours of the night, and purposely flooding my apartment. I came home or woke up several times to my downstairs toilet flooding my apartment, since my side was on the sewer exit side. Sonia was great at mediating the problem and the neighbors eventually moved out after a few months of their obnoxious noise and flooding issues. Management worked with me several times in regards of rent, maintenance, and other issues. They even went the extra mile to make sure I had a comfortable experience there. Sonia and Gwen were great at handling any issues I had at the apartment and were great to have a nice chat with from time-to-time. For the price tag with this apartment, despite going up every year, is probably the best you can get in Boone with air conditioning and being in the middle of the city. Now with the bus stop being at the front, Bavarian is a better location to live at. My only major complaint that I have (and heard from others) are some apartments are outdated and needs to be remodeled, but this is something they've promised to do over time when the resident moves out. However, I think some remodeling work can be done while the resident is residing there. This is just a difference in opinion between management and I. I did enjoy my stay at Bavarian Village and I would live here again, if I do happen to move back to Boone in the near future."
