"There is usually a variety of style, sizes, and seasons in children’s clothes, which is something I appreciate! Additionally the store is kept clean and the associates are helpful. The free monthly book they offer with any purchase is also a kind gesture. However, ...the quality and price can be a hit or miss. I’ve spoken with many moms who feel the same. I must say for the amount of times I have purchased something out of need and had to settle for more than “gently used” items at an unfair price, I am nonetheless disappointed. Just recently my boys needed more pants and dress shirts, while I was able to score some great dress shirts our budget was tight and needed to select something. Again, while they usually have a good variety in different sizes this is not always the case. I bought a pair pants that were near worn through at the knees...for $8. Many times I will pass clothes items in the racks that are stained, ripped, excessively worn, etc. Or I have unknowingly brought home such items only to assess the damage then. Kid to Kid does have a system by which they sort clothes and I understand they are bound to miss sort something as passable but as I said it happens far too often for my liking. They do have a return policy which is great, but for busy moms this is one less convenience to incorporate into busy schedules and lives. There was one instance I had a couple items that were to be returned and I did not make it back it back for several months. That’s just life. Sure I can go galavanting to other thrift shops looking for better deals but again that is not always a convenient or realistic option for moms, gas prices are high and life is busy. Speaking of prices, finding sub par “their standard for pass” at a “quality” price is not the only issue. Years before inflation, I have consistently seen decent second hand current style clothes being sold at their store a price not much less than what the sale price or even full retail price would be in stores. I know they have a system that “adequately prices” items. I am just telling you what I see in store and what I look up on google. You can typically find better prices at other thrift stores. Consigning can help offset the cost but you are more likely to receive little to no offer on what you bring in. I’ve consigned with them for years. I understand they have to make a profit but competitively their prices for second hand clothing are generally not best. The sale discounts they offer from time to time are getting better, but the worth while sales typically only happen when they are clearing out for the season or have extra inventory- so they say on their text alerts. Again not as frequent and not so convenient that all can attend the sales. Even when you are in store for most “stamp sales” you will seldom find a match for what you need with a qualifying item. They can argue for the amount items they mark but I am shopping 3 kids, as for my odds. What discounts are routinely offered are color stamped at various percentages off and if anything I will most commonly find the 25% off stamp. Most times this is between 1-2$ Off a single qualifying item on 40$ Purchase for maybe 5 items (3 items if you have a name brand item and nice pair of shoes) with a 0-8$ buyback on your consignment. This is my personal average and typical purchase. 3 kids. Specifics aside, in my personal estimation they are about 2-3$ more than other thrift and consignment stores. Per item, that adds up. Bottom line on this, yes you will find a variety in what you are looking for, most of the time. But yes, you will also encounter poor quality items and unfair prices. I don’t pretend to be a business owner or know what the remedy is here but you asked for an honest review. And judging by the previous reviews you openly welcome criticism with the objective to improve what concerns your clientele may have.
