Glenville Queen Diner

"I can't say enough good things about this place. We came across it while traveling out. And now every time we pass this way we plan on stopping. Typical old school diner with the old school service and offerings. Dinners are magnificent. Breakfast is top notch and a traditional glass case with tiered lazy Susan showcasing mile high pies cakes and desserts."

"I love the Glenville Queen. I'm British, twice a year I visit my friend who lives in Glenville and we eat there at least twice per visit. The food is excellent, but what gives it 5 stars for me is the staff and the general atmosphere. We are made so welcome, nothing is too much trouble, or too weird. Every visit is made really special, and it's an added bonus that the prices are very reasonable. Plenty of parking, and they can accommodate large parties, children and wheelchair users."

""Quite pricy for a diner, but hey, the food was good." Ordered online over their website, which may not see much use as the diner was seemingly confounded by the fact they had received an online order. (not that they weren't ready, just shocked) Went with an appetizer order of Calamari, and the main entree of the Broiled Fisherman's Platter with a side of onion rings and a side salad. In total the price came to a little over $47, which compared to other diners I have visited recently was on the pricier side by a full ten bucks. What about the food itself. Well the onion rings weren't crispy, but they had some banging flavor. The calamari was really good, but they weirdly topped it with feta cheese and diced tomato. The side salad was fresh, though it was 25% made up of celery which is a weird choice for a garden salad. As for the main dish, the fisherman's platter, it was just plain delicious. The haddock was cooked perfectly, the scallops the same, the clams were a fun treat in their shell with the topping, and the shrimp were not so much stuffed as they were wrapped in a breading akin to a seasoned hushpuppy. Overall the food was good, but it didn't blow any competitors out of the water. So even though it felt like I could have gotten the same quality meal from other restaurants nearby, my wallet was still a full Hamilton lighter."

"I have been coming here for many years for both breakfasts and lunch/dinner. While the breakfast remains good,the portions and price for dinner and lunch have deteriorated.High prices and smaller portions take away from what use to be an affordable and solid diner.Not to say that the food is bad it just seems questionable as to if most items are really worth it with high prices and small portions."
