"This is hands down the best coffee place in Patchogue. You won’t find a better cup of coffee or experience. All of the baristas are great and really make it a point to make you feel welcomed. The food is also wonderful. But please for the love of all that’s good in the world.. grace this beautiful space with some more comfortable seating!! I get that too much comfort might make people linger.. but the current seating totally throws off the vibe and doesn’t make me want to stick around any longer than I have to. I’d love to hang out, do some work, and keep buying all of the delicious things Southdown has to offer while I’m there."

"The chickpea salad sandwich with avocado is delicious! It packs so many different flavors on the perfect crusty bread. Another favorite is the little English for breakfast; that spicy sour cream is a game changer with that perfectly crisp bacon. Always greeted with a smile and friendly conversation."

"Driven past for a while but finally tried it today. Great atmosphere but even better coffee. Bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Maple Spice Latte was delicious & the flavor is perfect, not too sugary but just enough. Great balance. Apple cider donut was by far the best I’ve had & that includes out east at all the mom & pop farmstands! Crispy on outside, soft in middle, and exploding with flavor. Will be back! Hidden gem."

"As someone who lives and works in the village of Patchogue, I know that I have a number of options for where to buy coffee. Southdown has only been here for a little over six months, though it quickly became my go-to spot not only for exceptional coffee, but for its comfortable atmosphere and high quality service. When I describe this place to people, I always tell them that Southdown turns buying a cup of coffee into an experience. When one walks into Southdown they are greeted by friendly staff who look professional in their aprons. I will break down some of the highlights of my experience at Southdown: Atmosphere: Between the giant plant in the center of the store and the floor the ceiling windows, Southdown is a breath of fresh air. There is so much natural light in the coffee shop, which makes it lovely to sit in on both a sunny or stormy day. Service: This is probably my favorite part of Southdown. The staff go above and beyond and truly put their hearts into every order. I get very shy about ordering the same thing all the time, but they are super friendly and they make me feel good about what I order. Sometimes I want to visit Southdown just to say hi to the staff. They truly take "service with a smile" seriously. I love watching them make the drinks as they treat it like an art. Drinks: Yessss the drinks! I love a good iced chai latte. Southdown's chai does not have a sugary, artificial taste like Starbucks or Dunkin's chai; instead, one can taste the genuine chai spice in their chai. Plenty of dairy free options. I have also enjoyed their hibiscus iced tea, lavender latte, maple spice latte, and frozen iced coffee. I appreciate how their coffee menu includes drinks that people do not see often like coffee with beet-infused oat milk. While I do wish they had more variety of flavors, (I would love a good caramel macchiato) I can appreciate their effort to give customers a new experience. Food: My go-to order is a grilled cheese with pesto, bacon, and tomato. Always made fresh and delicious. You can actually see staff in the back making the food. I love getting this sandwich on my lunchbreak, not only because it's delicious, but Southdown is one of the few places that have my order out promptly. Parking anywhere in Patchogue is difficult; therefore, I do not fault local businesses for it. I highly suggest parking behind the Patchogue-Medford Library."

"What a beautiful cafe. The baristas were all really nice and helpful, and the coffee was awesome. I got the juniper latte and it was perfect, had a hint of pine and citrus. The food is great too!"
