"It's a rugged trail. I'm amazed to see people running on it...but to each his own. It's a 1 1/4 miles to water...once you're there it's time to turn around or take some of the side trail. Another trail I'll visit again."

"Nice secluded trail in Huntersville, NC just off Beatties Ford Road. Easy 2.5 mile trek with winding loops, well maintained and marked well. Nice views of wildlife with a small lake halfway through your walk. Trail has a small parking lot at the end of Stephens Road, just past Stephen's Grove Subdivision. Borders Buckeye Cove Nature Preserve ... Great starter trail for enthusiasts !!"

"Nice place. There is limited parking for maybe half a dozen cars at the end of Stephens Road which is the main trailhead. There's also a trash can with dog station and a trail map display. We hiked almost 4 miles in about 1.5 hours. Easy hike, quiet and seems secluded. Many parts of the trails were muddy and multiple small trees had taken over the trail. There is an overlook of an inlet on the river."

"What a hidden gem! Plenty of trails to keep you hiking for at least a few hours. Most of the main trials are very well maintained. The trails that serve as shortcuts as well as the ones that loop off themselves are less maintained and feel more "off the path" which is great if you want something slightly more challenging. Great views of a spur off the River. Despite going after and during the rain, most of the trails were not too muddy either. If you like Latta Nature Preserve you will love it here. Very peaceful park. Small parking area at end of road. Be sure to not block the gate as the road runs to equipment for the Water Dept."
