"Two sets of waterfalls, 4 mile loop trail."
"This is a 3.8 mile hike and can definitely strenuous at times. Very narrow path when the path splits to the left we took that to the falls and then the other trail back thankfully because we were tired and I can't imagine doing the left side back after hiking down plus we had my pittie with us. It is a beautiful hike along the river when taking the left side the right side takes you up & around and away from the water for the hike."
"Crazy road down, but cool scenery. 1.3 miles from road. Running water was fun to drive through. Very isolated. More signs would be better because I almost turned around a few times, down trees looked like it's not visited often or at all."
"A bit off the beaten path but the two waterfalls are worth it. For the novice, I recommend tracking your progress to the far falls of the hike using your phone gps and hiking app as a couple of downed trees can cause you to divert to another trail that actually is the return loop. To prevent this, if traveling the counter clockwise route (recommended) keep the river on your left until you reach the (obvious) campsite. If any downed trees block your way, work around them and continue on the trail keeping the river on your left. (On my hike a large tree totally blocked the trail for more than 10 yards). Keeping the river to your left, you're almost there when you hear the water roaring. Ignore the temptation to turn left at the camp (there's a trail but ignore it) and continue through the campsite to pick up the real trail again on the other side which ends at a straight on (and best) view of the falls. Head back the same way you came into the camp but at the first fork go right--dont head back the way you came. At the next split (not really a split but it does look like one), again keeping the river on your right, turn left. If you turn right, not only will the river be on your left (i.e. going wrong way) in about 3 minutes you'll realize you went the wrong way because the trail basically disappears. After a mile or so in the right direction (headed down mostly) you'll be at river level and will reach man-made steps on your left. Keep going past to discover the second falls. When done admiring them, go back and start the climb up turning right at the fork at the top (I.e. River on right to return). This is a very pretty hike but for the inexperienced hiker you won't get lost but you may not find the jewels the trail leads to if you don't pay attention to basic hiking know-how needed because of fallen trees (i.e. keeping certain features on your left or right to ensure you reach the destination--well, on this trail at least.) For a shorter version with just 1 waterfall, as you leave the parking lot, at the first fork on the trail, about 3/4 of a mile in, go left (clockwise on the trail loop) and you will reach the stairs. Turn left at the bottom by the river to see the double falls. A moderate hike, beautiful scenes, but if trees are down (which happens on trails off the beaten path) these tips should help. Again though -- you won't get lost. You just might miss the falls if you get turned around though. Even then it's a pretty hike on a mostly very well maintained trail."
"Nice hike and a couple of really amazing waterfalls. We are in our fifties and in relatively good shape. Having said that this trail is a little more moderately difficult than easy in my opinion. Is it worth it for the two falls?? Absolutely! Just be aware it's a little more difficult than the "easy" way the Forest Service describes. GPS (or Google) got us there while Forest Service directions did not. Lol"
