"I was really excited to try this place after reading good reviews and seeing pictures. But unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience. It’s a small place with a couple of tables. We came on a hot august day and their air conditioning was broken. That’s not the worst of it for us though, I felt bad for the man cooking. They have lemonade and fruit punch and ice tea only for $2. I asked if they make it here and he said yes. When we tried it though it was just powdered flavored water. I was expecting something home made but I guess for $2 it’s not going to be that. We ordered the great catch for $40 it comes with shrimp, fish, chicken wings and lobster and two sides. They were out of lobster and said would double up on the fish and shrimp for us. I asked for the shrimp sautéed. He also said it was going to be 25 min. 40 min later we got our food. We took it home which is 30min away and there were 3 pieces of fish, 7 shrimp a handful of fries and broccoli and no chicken wings. The fish I couldn’t even eat, it was hard as a rock, super salty, the parts that weren’t hard were chewy and some of the fish smelled so fishy and rotten. The shrimp were not sautéed, they were fried. And also super super salty. The broccoli was good but there was a super small portion. Fries were bland, which is surprising since everything else was a salt lick. They were also a bit too greasy and not too many either. Compared to other fish joints in the area this is sub par. In jersey city surf city has a fried fish platter for $33 has 4 pieces of cod, around 10 shrimp and calamari and lots and lots of fries, much better deal and tastes better. I ended up calling and letting them know they left the wings off. At that point I didn’t try the fish so I didn’t tell them the fish was bad. she did say she would credit some money back on our credit card. But a couple of days later the payment went through and no credit. Very disappointed."

"I really love, and enjoyed coming to Bayonne Batter the food was phenomenal!!!!! And I will tell you the flavors is on point!!!!!!! the best seafood, hands-down everything is cooked fresh, so do not expect your food in five seconds it’s made in its perfection!!!!"

"I am surprisingly disappointed!!! According to the reviews this place was great or some people just have no taste. The Mac n cheese was just mac! The one piece of fish that I received was mush and the shrimp was salty. I just don’t know what to say. Good luck to the next person"

"While I was in Jersey visiting my parents, wanted to order something to eat. Found this place on UberEATS and, after doing a quick search for reviews, decided to give them a try. Easily placed the order in the app and once my food arrived (had a great delivery driver through UberEATS), glad I went with them. I got Fried Fish, Mac and Cheese and an order of Wings. The food was very tasty, still very hot/warm and decent portions. I did wish the chicken wings were bigger in size (they are party wings/wingettes, not full wings), but still delicious. The fish was fried perfectly - nice crisp and breading that's seasoned. And, since my niece kept eating my Mac and Cheese lol, my parents ended up ordering from this place again the next day and they liked it too! Seems like a good spot, food was delicious. Encourage people to give them a try and I would for sure order from them again when back in the area."
