The Vegan Factory

"I love The Vegan Factory! I've visited twice and my friends and I keep saying we need to go back, haha. The Vegan Factory started in the Bronx, NYC and opened a second location in Linden, NJ! The space is cute and cozy. Everything is 100% vegan. The menu consists of classic sandwiches like El Patacon, Mexican dishes like tostadas, burgers, sandwiches and dessert. My friends and I started off with a guava natural juice which was delicious. They have other flavors like passion fruit and tamarin. To share, we had to get the nachos. I ordered them on both visits, they are one of the best vegan nachos I've had yet! For my main dish I ordered El Vegan Cubano in between two fried plantains and it came with fries. It was too good! I've always wanted a sandwich in between two fried plantains but it always has meat so to have an option that's vegan is exciting. Their dessert options are always fuego! They mix it up which I like. The time I visited they had a Dominican dessert, tres leches, rice pudding, funfetti cake and more. The service at The Vegan Factory makes you feel like you're family! Everyone is super knowledgeable about the food and drinks, and they suggest options you may like. My last visit I was grateful to have met the owners who are very sweet! They also started serving up breakfast which I will definitely be back to try."

"The food was incredibly good. I brought my parents who aren’t vegan (& don’t typically like vegan alternatives) - they loved their food too! The vibe was a little confusing, there was no music playing, no one eating in there, dead quiet, and my mom asked for salsa and was given ketchup, but beyond the kinda confusing service & vibe the food quality made it worthwhile for sure. I got the Mofonguitos and they were so so so good. I’ve not had this take of Mofongo before - def recommend. Might be better as an app to split with people. Would definitely return to eat again with hopefully a bit of a livelier spirit inside."

"I was searching for a Vegan place on our way to the airport and after a few minutes of searching came across this place. We went in a Friday around 5pm ish. There was one other guy dining in. As a non-vegan I really found the food super tasty. My wife has been vegan for almost 15 years. She definitely enjoyed it as well. We had a little feast and couldn’t even finish it all. She had the Cuban and I had the Cheesesteak. I think we liked each others’ sandwiches better but they were both really good. We’d go back if we lived in the area."

"My wife and I decided to dine out today, and we chose the Vegan Factory. The ambiance was lovely, but unfortunately, our culinary experience fell short of expectations. I ordered the chopped cheese, which, disappointingly, didn't quite taste like the classic chopped cheese I was hoping for. Instead, it had a strong sofrito flavor, earning it a 2.5 rating in my book. The Cubano sandwich wasn't much better, scoring a 3. The highlight was the delicious bread and bacon, but the description led us to expect shredded mushrooms, which were missing from the sandwich. Moving on to the mac and cheese, it was a letdown. Rather than the creamy mac and cheese we anticipated, it resembled pasta with a strong garlic taste. I'd rate it a 2, perhaps even a 1. However, it's worth noting that the service was exceptional, earning a 4.5-star rating. Our young server was attentive and when I mentioned my disappointment with the mac and cheese, she explained that it was vegan. While I appreciate the effort to cater to vegan preferences, as a chef myself, I know that vegan dishes can be delicious, and unfortunately, this one didn't meet the mark. While the Vegan Factory is a nice place for a meal, it fell short of delivering the vegan flavors we were hoping for. I encourage you to check it out, but be aware that the flavors may not meet your expectations. I hope they continue to provide good service and experiment with new flavors in the future. Unfortunately, I can only give them a 2-star rating for the food."
