Wesser Creek Trailhead

"I did 1.8 miles out and back so total 3.6 miles. I enjoyed it. Up hill the whole way until I turned around but not too steep. Didn’t see anyone else. Very peaceful and beautiful. The trailhead has no signs so just follow google maps."

"A bit difficult to reach but trail is well marked, not much use. In the National Forest, so good place to hike with your dog."

"Beautiful trail along the creek. A bit challenging since you have to cross the water multiple times and the trail gets pretty narrow on the hill side in some places, but well worth it. We did not go all the way to the top though since we were short in time."

"One of my favorite spots in the Nantahala gorge. Very little in the way of crowding, despite being a very beautiful temperate rainforest. That said, be prepared for the fact that it's nearly always wet, is extremely buggy, and generally doesn't get much love in terms of trail maintenance."

"Easy hike along Wesser Creek, slight uphill until you have to cross the creek. Is usually about ankle deep, sometimes less and you can step on rocks. From there it does go up, not steep though. I believe it's 5 miles to the AT."
