picnic area near the creek crossing where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of the water flowing by.
Once you reach Twentymile Trail, you can head back to the trailhead by going right. The trail is relatively flat, with a few small hills, and continues alongside Twentymile Creek. The terrain is smooth and easy to navigate, making for a pleasant return trip.
Overall, the Twentymile Loop Hike offers a variety of scenery, from creek crossings and cascades to forested ridges and mountain views. It is a moderate hike that is suitable for hikers of all skill levels. Whether you choose to hike it in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, you are sure to enjoy the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at the Twentymile Trail Trailhead."

"Beautiful. Must have great smokies parking pass to park and hike trail. Get at visitor centers in cherokee or Gatlinburg. Or print online from home. No pets are allowed. No restrooms."
"Plenty of parking. Access to great trails/sights on a quieter side of the busiest national park in the country."
"A nice trailhead to access Gregory Bald, the AT, and Shuckstack Firetower, among other spots. It's very quiet and secluded, and in several days of backpacking these trails we saw very few people. The trails from Twentymile follow streams with many waterfalls and blooming rhododendrons in the spring. One thing to know (could be an up or downside) is that many of the trails closest to the trailhead are just old roads, so they're very gravely, but also nice gradual slopes. Lastly, this is NOT a ranger station, just a trailhead. There is no potable water available unless you filter it yourself, no restroom/latrine, and no rangers available for pre- or post-hike questions."
"This section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the least visited and for that reason, one of my favorite areas of the park. It offers easy access to several trails, dispersed camping and creeks and waterfalls that are majestic and beautiful. Parking is limited but has never been a problem. If you are seeking solitude and natural beauty in the Smokies, you'd be hard pressed to find a better location."
