River Arts District

"I found this area very difficult to navigate. Businesses were not well marked either. Not much open on Sundays. Yes the river is there but you can barely see it and all the walking is in the sun for the stores. I did meet two lovely artists and purchased items. The Businesses themselves are not on the River. Just not my idea of walking in and out of stores..everything is very spread out"

"Very nice park to play and or relax. Lots of places to sit by the river. The have picnic tables and benches up and down the sidewalk and plenty of trees in the park or by the river bank to hang a hammock. It's a cool place to go to enjoy hanging out at a park that has all kinds of things to do or not doing anything at the same time. Tubbing the river, fishing, swimming, walking, running, reading, sunbathing, napping, having a picnic, or like I did showing off my artwork. Not only there are all kinds of people visiting from outta town, there are locals enjoying the same stuff to do too. Pretty cool vibes and very friendly smiles. I would definitely come back and enjoy this beautiful park again."

"As tourists, my family and I have been excited and curious to explore many popular things to do in Ashevile and this place popped up in the search. We were really glad that we came. This place is huge and we had a chance to explore only small part of it. The local artists are so talented. "Great place to go. Very energetic and expiring. When you walk in various studios, you will see the artist and their friends actually doing their art. You can actually see the love for their art and the love for meeting new people. Many artists studios that I went in the artist was there creating the art right there. They will stop and talk to you. Walk you around the studio. Show you the prices of the art. Let you know what went into it and everything. It is a great experience just seeing people doing what they love to do. Moreover, just take a stroll and take your time. It's also calming for your soul. You will find very various food places in adult beverage spots to go to as well. You even find a record store which is also fun. You can park and you can walk. You'll probably have to do both, but one thing you will do is enjoy."

"Such a cool place to visit! Once industrial buildings now all transformed to art studios , art galleries and shops, and workshops. The street arts are vibrant and contemporary. There are so many varieties of art styles on display, from pottery and sculpture to paintings and mixed media works. The artists here are truly talented. They are friendly too. There are coffee shops and beer garden as well. It could be easily spend a half day here exploring the whole area."
