Reviews
"Red Banks is a beautiful family friendly campground. We did a day pass to swim & fish. It was myself, my grandprince & his friend. The swimming is fantastic & they enjoyed fishing. The owner is a super nice gentleman & he was very accommodating. There are gorgeous restrooms with showers. Everyone we met was friendly & kind. This was my first trip to Red Banks but definitely not my last."
"I really wanted to like this place. A great beach to swim and bring dogs, seems like they have good amenities and the people who work here seem polite. I have a couple of issues with my stay however. Upon arrival on Saturday, 9/2 we were informed that the reservation we had paid $45 for was useless due to the fact that it was a holiday weekend and a festival was going on. The man who greeted us was clearly intoxicated which is a bit unprofessional and a safety concern. However, he was apologetic and managed to find us a spot between two campsites on a slope. This wasn’t a great place to set up camp, but this camp ground was absolutely packed so we settled there. I understand it’s a holiday weekend, but….. why insist on reservations for a campsite? Or make it clear that it is “first come, first serve” as the camp host stated it was after dropping us off. He insisted festival week was a free for all. This was all fine, except for the fact that the quiet hours were blatantly disregarded. I understand it’s a holiday weekend, but to not have anyone enforcing these rules or monitoring the site is again, not professional. I figured hey, I’m up at 4:00am and have not fallen asleep due to the blasting of music and screaming and howling of other campers, I might as well write my review. After about 2am this grows very tiring and nobody was around for us to talk to about it. In other reviews you guys are very defensive about taking care of the fellow campers and ensuring their comfort, however I have not seen any effort towards this on a weekend where safety and consistency is extremely important. Finally, there is a clear issue/disconnect with the consistency and quality of service/ amenities here. The website says 2 different things about how many primitive campsites are offered at red bank (many more people were jammed into the campground than either number stated with individuals arriving even past 10PM and driving past our tent even until 2am), and I also sent an email to the contact address and received no response at all. The website states access to Wi-Fi for the campgrounds and I could get no information about this from anyone upon our arrival due to the state of inebriation of some of the employees. The culmination of all of these issues really turned me off of this campground and I do not think I will take the chance of driving 5 hours again to be told my reservation is invalid."
"I was looking for a missing person, someone who had last told a friend he was camping in erwin. He missed an important appointment and was unreachable. After searching and repeated attempts to contact him our last resort was to file a missing persons report. So I tried to contact the local campgrounds before we turned to that. The first campground I contacted was very polite and helpful. Not the second. I asked a USA raft employee if anyone by his name had checked in. They told me unless I was looking for a missing child they weren't allowed to disclose who was staying there. Totally understandable and I was not pushy. But I assumed if a police report ended up being filed an officer might show up. So I simply asked "if a police report is filed would you be able to give that information to police?" She responded with "you better not be threatening to bring police to this campground!" I told her that was not my intention I was just asking if she was allowed to tell police if he was there. I told her I was concerned and why, I finally asked "what if he drowned?" Her response. "We would know if someone by that name had drowned and we would let you know." Admirable dedication to the safety of their campers. I was then hung up on. 10 minutes later I got a phone call letting me know the person I was looking for was there. But the woman then proceeded to tell me THEY would call law enforcement if I came looking for him. I told them that was unnecessary and I wouldn't be coming to the campground since I knew he was safe. I was not combative or rude a single time. I'm not sure why I got this reaction from them when family members and friends were worried about the safety of a loved one. I've lived here my entire life and there are much better camping locations where the staff will be genuinely concerned for your well-being."
"WOW. THATS ALL I GOT. W O W THIS PROPERTY IS HEAVENLY The staff are really kind people and the places is extra clean. Very organized and put together. This is probably in top 3 campsites I've ever had. And I've camped more than a couple times hehe. Currently on a 4 to 6 month sabbatical you might call it. I dropped evrrything and got on the road. This is my second landing and I don't think I'm in any rush to leave. If you are reading this, just go now. Don't even think twice. Ask for the spot on the river bank before the woody area and the staff spots. (Showem the clip attached) A Legendary Spot for sure. Bring a ground level lawn chair and sit in the river all day drinking Bonangles Sweet Tea and you might just reach Nirvana."
"Best camp ground around!! By far the best location & the safe are super helpful!! I highly recommend camping here with the family!!"
