"Excellent traditional Mexican restaurant at moderate prices. Nice menu with multiple choices. Excellent mixed drinks. Compatible with other higher priced local Mexican restaurant, Bessito; but, prices at highly competitive. Highly recommend. There are other locations for this small chain…all are solid."

"Restaurant is always packed, you may have to wait to get a table at pick hours and weekends. Quality has been hit or miss for me, I like the Steak and Shrimp, but Chicken quality is very poor. They serve a rubbery taste less chicken breast. I haven’t tried all dishes, I mostly ordered combo Fajitas family style."

"We were in the area running errands as we normally live in the Bronx. We were a party of 6 and got sat right away. Immediately we noticed we were sat in the same area as a group having a private event. While this didn’t bother us as much we did feel uncomfortable intruding on a private event. We had to ask for our own menus because the waiter hadn’t given us any, as everyone in the restaurant was too busy catering to the event. Once We ordered, the food took an entire hour and when we asked about the timely wait, we were told that events took priority. We said we’d just like to pay for our drinks and be on our way but we were told our food would be right out. Had we been told this before being sat we would completely understand and maybe even went elsewhere as we wouldn’t want to overwhelm the restaurant. The food was alright, but after it took so long we almost lost all our appetites."

"For decades, this spot on Hillside Avenue has housed several good restaurants. Margaritas Cafe is certainly following the leaders of the past. The decor is festive, welcoming, and tasteful, as is the food. The menu offers many tempting items. We enjoyed their Sopa Azteca, a chicken soup with Pasilla Chile, tomato, Oaxaca cheese, avocado, and sour cream and their Plantanos Fritos Con Crema, sweet and cooked to perfection. Their Cheese Quesadilla with melted Mexican cheese, Tampiquena sauce also came with guacamole too. All in all, an authentic meal served attractively and mouthwatering."
