"Great hike…gorgeous area but the circular trail is a bit strenuous Keep an eye out for the blue trail markers if you think you’re lost! Would def recommend Might be a bit tough with smaller children"
"There's a bathroom, campgrounds, picnic grounds, and a good number of trails. This is where the Blue ridge parkway officially started and it's a right place to visit. Especially beautiful in the fall."
"Great place to relax and have a picnic! Informative signage to relate the historical events of the surrounding areas. Sadly, the Park buildings are deteriorating rapidly due to weather and termite damage. Not enough money in the budget.... Also a good Base for a bicycle ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway."
"We had so much fun on this trail. It is one we would definitely want to do again. It is pretty short, but challenging. There are multiple crossings across a creek, some waterfalls, and currently there are some downed trees on the trail that actually added to the fun and unique nature of this one. Got to do this in autumn when the leaves had changed which was very beautiful. The extra leaf litter on the ground did add to the challenge though, because you couldn’t see some of the rocks and roots you were stepping on. There is plenty of parking at the base of the trail as well as restroom facilities."
"probably my favorite hike yet! so much diversity in nature, i managed to get some wonderful shots. absolutely no complaints, we went a bit before the leaves started changing in early october. weather was perfect, there weren’t too many people, and there was so much to see. this trail in particular, along with most of the others around it, aren’t too strenuous at all, and the cumberland one is probably the best for older folks and little ones (dogs included!)"
