"We made a reservation for two for a 2:45 arrival for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated at approx. 2:40. As you might expect, the restaurant was rather empty at that time, but lunch was still being served. The waitress promptly took our beverage order and returned to our table with the drinks and took our order. After about 20 minutes the waitress finally reappeared at our table but not with our order - she finally brought our bread which should have arrived about 15 minutes earlier. We then sat for another 15 to 20 minutes more - no sign of the waitress or our food. At 3:30, 50 minutes after we arrived, we finally decided that we were through being ignored and decided to leave when the waitress made an appearance... but not to deliver our food but to announce that they were having an "issue" in the kitchen. We told her we were leaving and asked for the check for our beverages which she comped and we left. Questions: 1. In an almost empty restaurant why did it take over 45 minutes to NOT get two sandwiches? 2. Why did it take 20 minutes to get a few slices of bread? 3. Why was there no communication about any issues until we had sat for 45 minutes in a practically empty restaurant? 4. Why was a couple who was seated well after us served when we never were? 5. Throughout all this why were not approached by a manager to explain the delay? Please Mr. Garvey do not tell me that the transitional period between lunch and dinner can be a "difficult time" in a restaurant. If that's the case don't take reservations for after 2 PM and/or close for one hour to change the setups from lunch to dinner. Don't promise lunch and then fail to provide it. It was a long, very hungry trip back home to Buffalo. We had just wasted two hours of our day."

"My friend and I had brunch on December 3,2023. The only reservation I could get was 1:30 pm. We were seated on time and the wait staff was exceptional. My only complaint was that food was not replenished at certain stations. I went up to the carving station and I was able to get the last slice of beef which was rare and I took the end slice which was really well done. I was told that there was no more beef coming out. The brussel sprouts were way undercooked, actually inedible. My friend's bloody Mary was filled with spice sediment. It made her cough with every sip. There was a big improvement in the desserts. Delicious! But please have food stations replenished for late reservations. Thank you for listening."

"I organized a small lunch event here in one of the rooms, and it was so lovely. The food was quite good (an improvement from meals I’ve had in prior years) and the overall impression of the roycroft seemed warmer and nicer than ever. Maybe due to new ownership? But the highlight was the staff! No matter the age everyone was knowledgeable, non-intrusive, and swift. We had to take some pictures in various spots and even though there were staff nearby I didn’t get the impression that we were bothersome or breaking any rules. Everyone was so friendly and diligent and I appreciate them being a part of the experience!"

"Loved going there to celebrate a birthday with my family! What a quiet and beautiful setting of gardens, greenery and surrounding castle-like looking buildings. We enjoyed our time there and the menu was very good. Our dinner was served in a reasonable amount of time considering they are under staffed. Everyone was very attentive and polite."
