"As much as we wanted to like this place, we didn't really have a great experience. The atmosphere feels welcoming and nicely decorated although some real plants would be much nicer. We ordered the Turkish coffee and pumpkin spice latte. They both didn't really have a taste to them which was very disappointing. There was a whole coffee bean in the pumpkin spice latte somehow. Not a great surprise. When ordering, they took our names for the drinks which was wrong but close enough. When orders were ready, instead of calling people's names, they for some reason just called the drink name which was confusing when multiple people order the same thing. I ended up walking up to the counter to be told the Turkish coffee wasn't my order. Hope they can turn things around. These are issues that can easily be resolved"

"This cafe is SO cute & will be my go-to. I had the salmon toast & it was delicious, as was my iced latte. I want to try the Turkish coffee sometime. And, they open at 6:30 during the week! Earlier than most (if not all) the cafes in Buffalo, so those of us who work early can get in before work."

"A glowing example of quality food and stunning aesthetic!! Each item on the menu is artfully and tastefully crafted with high quality ingredients. I ordered a matcha latte and a bagel with egg and cheese. I inhaled the sandwich so fast that I don’t have a photo of it. I enjoyed the food and service so much, that I returned the following day for round 2. It was just as great- the orange mango smoothie is so refreshing on a summer day! This cozy cafe is airy, yet fun. Be sure to let your inner child out and sway on the swinging bench. The owners- a lovely couple- were warm and hospitable. They recently opened this place and we had a wonderful conversation about their passion for bringing people together with food. I cant wait to return again to explore more of their delightful masterwork. Highly recommend!"

"I have been going to Penny’s since they opened and I have been able to watch them grow. They’re still finding their rhythm and I think in a few months they’ll be operating at 100%. Overall, my experience has been welcoming. The owners are shy, but they have opened up more as I’ve come in. It’s an adjustment, I get it! I really appreciate how the shop has been a great third place for me. No, my coffee isn’t ready immediately and I have noticed they’re still working out the menu, but this stuff doesn’t bug me. In the last month, I’ve seen them firm up in both of these areas. I’ve seen some negative reviews of the Turkish coffee—they serve a totally normal cup of Turkish coffee. The grounds at the bottom are normal! It helps the coffee develop its strong flavor."
