"My friend and I were in Carthage on business and decided to stop for a bite at Zero Dock Street. We’d heard good things about it. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. We were greeted and seated right away. Larkin was our super-friendly server. We wanted to get the duck bacon wontons for an app. “Don’t hate me, but we’re out of those today,” she said. We wound up ordering the boneless chicken wings with mild sauce to split. It’s a good thing we decided to split them, because the portion was huge, like 13 pieces! We couldn’t finish them. They were delicious! The sauce had a tangy little kick to it. For my entree, I chose the broiled haddock with tots. There were a LOT of tots. Again, I couldn’t finish them all. My friend ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese bowl. Again, the portion was quite large. It was a very tasty dish; he said that the buffalo sauce from the chicken infused the pasta. Props to our server, Larkin, who was working the entire floor alone. We had leftovers to take home, always a good thing. We will probably go back, if only to try those elusive duck bacon wontons!"

"One of our newest soldiers lives in Carthage, and we wanted to have a welcoming meal for him. Upon searching up places to eat, Zero Dock Street Restaurant and Bar popped up and looked promising. Now, I can't speak for how things are during dinner hours, but during lunch, it was nice and quiet. We were quickly seated when we entered, and the staff was very friendly. This being our first visit here, we decided to order a few items. We ordered the Stuffed Jalapeños, Sweet Potato Skins, Calamari Tower, Onion Ring Tower, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Beech Hill Burger and the Build Your Own Burger. Everything was cooked to our liking and we all left satisfied. If you are in Carthage and looking for a place to hang out with your friends or take a date, check out Zero Dock Street."

"We were a bit disappointed by this restaurant. Our drinks and the wings were good, but everything else was not so great. They were understaffed (two waitresses on a Saturday night) and although the service was friendly, it took a long time. We waited 40 minutes for our drinks and a little over an hour for our food. Our appetizer and entrees came at the same time. They were out of the only vegetarian option (that was not a salad) so we all got a pizza. The toppings were good, but the crust was raw at some places. One slice even entirely existed out of a dough bubble."

"Great place! Great atmosphere. Beautiful scenery. The food was really good especially the cheese sauce for the pretzels. My wife said her haddock was really good as well. My burger was ok (bottom bun was burnt and the burger a little dry) but I think the overall score of the restaurant gets a five stars. The photo of the river is what the restaurant sits right on the shore of and you can view it from the plentiful outdoor dining. Ate here again four months apart and I must say we had a nice time. Tuesday evening and the atmosphere was nice and casual. I ordered the same burger and I must say the burger was better this time. It was nice and juicy and wasn’t dry at all. The pretzels logs with cheese sauce was amazing still (though it seemed the sauce was a little thin this time). All in all - I still give it 5 stars."

"Let me start by saying I’ve been wanting to try this place for months because I love independent restaurants. The atmosphere is great, but that alone is not enough reason to go back. I really wish the food was deserving of the building and atmosphere. The restaurant cleanliness was excellent. The entree presentation was very good. The only thing that that looked off was the fried haddock. The underlying theme for all of the food was unseasoned or underseasoned which resulted in the food being basically flavorless. The pulled pork sandwich was by far the best entree and it was just okay. The best thing we ate all night were the salads! The dressings were very good. The fish tacos… I love fish tacos because they are a fairly simple meal and are often best when the dish is not too complex. The description of them being on hard taco shells sounded a bit different but I decided to give them a try. When they arrived at the table they looked great! When I tasted them neither the chutney nor the fish had any flavor. The chutney needed something sweet and the fish seemed to have been grilled without seasoning or salt at all. (Or if it was I couldn’t taste it). My wife had grilled mahi-mahi with chutney also and a side of roasted red potatoes. Her fish and chutney were similarly flavorless and the roasted red potatoes seemed to be seasoned only by the oil bath they were swimming in. My daughter had fried haddock and it was flavorless and overcooked. My sons pulled pork sandwich tasted like it was made in a crockpot. There wasn’t even the hint of wood flavoring to the meat. The homemade French fries were also absent any seasoning. Salt, season salt, garlic or something would have saved these fries but they were also very oily."
