"So, who the he** gives a place like this a 1- or 2-star rating? I saw one reviewer who complained that it is "off the beaten path". What? You didn't know that before you drove to it? Give me a break! Awesome place in an area of superlatives. There is so much to see in the area. But the bridge is just way cool. I've never done it, but I hear that the trail upstream of the bridge is great. If you are looking for real adventure and don't mind a workout, visit nearby Ellicott Rock. I've been to it via the Bad Creek Trail. Trailhead for BCT is a couple of miles east of the bridge. Ellicott Rock is probably not for casual hikers. It's about 7 miles in and out. And you have to know how to find it. If you love nature and the sound of flowing water, it doesn't get much better than this old bridge. If that's not your thing, there's always the casinos."

"This bridge is beautiful and has great views of the river. Great walking trails as well. The road is dirt and very bumpy in many spots."

"Very beautiful and peaceful. This spot is in middle of no where. Upper Chattanooga water shed this area is mountainous and hiking is medium skill level. Parking is limited and it wasn't crowded this time of year (December). Good ride there so be prepared to drive at least 45 minutes from one end to other. The road has gotten rough in the sharper corners lower vehicles beware as risk of scrubbing."

"I and a friend were driving from Highlands looking for waterfalls, and ended up on the lonely road leading to this bridge...not much cell service, but we kept seeing the pin for Old Iron Bridge. (We would eventually find Silver Falls and Whitewater Falls) Once we arrived her, we were very pleased with this hidden find...quite alot of gorgeous natural scenery, and hiking trails. It's unfortunate that idiots have tagged the bridge, but a cool spot nonetheless."
