"NKBC is my go to cabinet supplier for my kitchen and bath remodels and new spec home builds. Rosie has always been very helpful!!"
"We are homeowners having our kitchen remodeled. Our contractor/designer purchased and installed these "high quality, all wood" cabinets for our home. To say we are disappointed is a complete and utter understatement. First of all, these are NOT all wood. The face of the cabinet is but the remainder of them is pressboard. Second, the assembly of these cabinets is sub-par at best. All but one of the cabinets has misfires of the staples underneath. You can see and feel these staples. Some stick out so far one would slice a finger while cleaning. In addition, the staples inside the cabinet going all the way up are visible as well. When this was brought to the attention of our contractor AND the NKBC rep, we were advised that is how they all are and if I had gone to the showroom I could have seen that for myself. (Perhaps that is true, but in all honesty I would never have thought this would be an acceptable product that a supposedly high quality wholesaler would provide). Third, there are plenty of small blemishes in the cabinets we initially overlooked but due to the continued issues, I feel it is warranted to mention them. Finally, the inside face of one of our cabinets has a large crack in it. I had found this crack upon cleaning prior to actually putting things back in my kitchen. When brought up to our contractor and the NKBC rep we were advised that this happened because of improper installation by us and would not be covered by the warranty. For context, the contractor's installer hung the door and then it had to be removed because of damage on the door. When we received the replacement my husband did hang that door in the same exact spot it was previously. No drilling, just simply screwing the door in the existing holes. In addition, the crack is not on any of the areas where these screws were tightened. Instead, it is along the outside seam of that cabinet. The fact that they are trying to say a couple of screws would cause that sort of damage says even more about the quality of these cabinets. The most recent response is that apparently there is a 48-hour timeframe to report assembly issues. So, be warned, you will need to climb inside your cabinets or get a mirror to look at the back side of the front face of your cabinets to make sure there is no damage within 48-hours of delivery/install according to this very high quality company. At the beginning of this project, I was so excited I would be getting my dream kitchen. Now, I wish we never did it. If you are looking for a quick flip that looks aestetically okay, then this may be the company for you. If you want true high quality cabinets for your home, make sure your contractor does not use this company. If I could leave a zero star I would. ****in response to them**** 1) The 3 doors you replaced were due to the contractor's installer who damaged the corner of 1 door and chipped the wood on 2 more when he installed hardware. So, you didn't go above and beyond for me. 2) I am not sure how anyone could "determine" the screws were overtightened when no one ever laid eyes on said screws. You received a picture of the crack which AGAIN is not near the screws and we are perfectly capable of turning some screws without overtightening. 3) These cabinets are no better quality than the builder grade ones I replaced with these things. In fact, those cabinets didn't even have one staple sticking out anywhere inside or out. 4) New cabinets shouldn't need fixes and that is the "resistance" mentioned below."
"We bought cabinets here for the past two years, quality has been ok. There were small defects in a lot of the orders from the shipping process but nothing too crazy. Recently we bought some for our personal home instead of for our rental properties. We bought them and weren’t able to get them put together for a month due to time constraints from remodeling a number of apartments using their cabinets ironically enough. Finally was able to get them put together and installed. There was a cracdked drawer front on a drawer base but it didn’t seem like it would be too noticeable so we went ahead and installed it not really wanting to wait till Monday to finish the already delayed project. Once it was installed we had friends over and they mentioned the crack, so it was more noticeable than expected. * note there is not dent or damaged to the wood on the cabinet as it would if it was dropped once assembled * We emailed our sales rep and we were basically told tough luck since we had assembled it and put a pull on it. After $50,000-$60,000 in purchases over the years they refuse to replace 1 drawer that is damaged even though it has so dents of other damage on the drawer just a crack along where the boards are joined. Pretty horrible customer service from their management is leading us to take our business back to where we previously bought cabinets, a place that actually stands behind their products and doesn’t treat their customers as just a number that’s part of their bottom line."
"Many of the positive reviews are from contractors & flippers. They may not have a problem with the limited selection but we're homeowners. Very disappointed. We simply wanted shaker style in a cream or off-white. Nope. They have a nice off-white but ONLY in a different door style. They have shaker but it's in bright white. Also be aware that these are made in Asia and are ready to assemble."
