"Terrible customer service. They have script and just repeat it to me again and again not understanding. I have been on hold for 1.5 hours kindly asking for a supervisor (now not as kindly) and my wife on was for 1.5 hours earlier. My wife's medicine says it is covered. But the actual pharmacies do not cover it. I am trying see if we can get her medicine covered. Mark Cuban Cost Plus and Walmart sell the generic for $300 for 30 pills. BCBS in network pharmacies want $11,500. SCAM?!?! Is BCBS keeping that money? Or The Pharmacy and BCBS sharing it? Or is BCBS incompetent at managing this aspect of Health Care and overpaying themselves. INSANE!!"

"They are mostly great IF YOU MAKE AN ADVANCE APPOINTMENT ON WEBSITE CALL THEM for the appointment. You'll describe your situation on a form and they come to the call prepared to address your situation. No waiting. One time we did receive wrong information but it was around a complex HSA / tax topic."

"I signed up for my standard healthcare with BCBS of NC starting 1/1/23. And I just noticed on 5/24/23 that there is a separate company that does a form of forced placed insurance that BCBS of NC OUTSOURCES coverage. I did not order the OUTSOURCED company coverage for VISION and the company doesn't cancel the insurance when you renew each year. Rather, they keep billing you for eternity hoping you won't notice the charge. Fortunately I received a paper bill and was able to cancel it. Beware of BCBS of NC outsourcing their insurance to companies that don't cancel upon each subsequent new year."

"The Customer Service is a misnomer. They should be called Customer Disservice. The lady who took my call was surly, and just on the verge of being rude, without being blatant about it. If you suggest there is an issue with their systems they are quick to accuse you of incompetence, effectively blaming any issues that arise in trying to pay for your plan on you the customer. If you contradict their assessment of your abilities, they then become slightly angry and more forcefully press the idea that you failed to push the buttons fast enough, or you made an error (on my 3rd try, where I can see on my smartphone screen every digit I entered to validate the entry was correct, where the system doesn't repeat back the numbers to you and ask to verify with a 1 for yes and 2 for no like it just did on the previous 7 menu entries?). The plan options on the Healthcare exchange looked pretty good in breadth of coverage, deductible, etc (compared to their peers). The online payment system has been broken the past 5 days I've been trying to make my initial payment. The automated phone system for payment is maddening: every single response requires a "yes" or "no" confirmation and each of the options are drawn out turning what should be a 2-3 minute payment process into a 6-8 minute process. They claim to offer the ability to pay by credit card, but that never works only paying by providing bank routing and acct info works (seems to be a "fake" pay by credit card option)."

"Blue Cross NC Raleigh agent Porsha Judd was patient with me and helped me to accomplish my task: get health insurance coverage in NC. She completed my application for me in a timely manner, and answered all the questions I had for her - and I had a lot of questions! She was even patient with me when I called her again soon before the office closed, and she stayed on the phone with me after her office closed. She was pleasant to talk to every time I spoke with her."
