WFU Campus Garden

WFU Campus Garden, located at 1141 Polo Road in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is a school institution that offers a hands-on gardening experience for students. As part of Earth Month 2024, the Campus Garden is hosting over 25 events from March 24 to April 26. Participants can learn about regenerative agriculture, climate change, and how gardening can help alleviate hunger.

The garden offers opportunities for all experience levels, including harvesting, pruning, mulching, weeding, composting, and seeding. The Connect & Cultivate program, led by trained student leaders, allows students to volunteer on weekdays from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. This program aims to connect students with each other and the environment while learning about sustainable gardening.

Annual crops are divided into Cool Season and Warm Season varieties, with additional Perennial Crops and flowers grown in the garden. Cover crops are also grown each season to protect and improve the soil. Volunteers are welcome to snack on organic veggies or take some home, with most produce going to The Campus Kitchen at WFU to help alleviate hunger in the community.

The Campus Garden is dedicated to empowering leadership for sustainability and is a part of Wake Forest University, founded in 1834 with a commitment to Pro Humanitate. It is a place where Wake Forest supporters can come together to cultivate a more sustainable future.
