"Dr. Strauss is awesome! I requested an appointment for my painful infected ingrown toenail and the nice ladies at the front desk called me back the next morning and fit me in the same day! The procedure went smoothly and Dr. Strauss made me and my fiancée feel comfortable with everything she was doing to treat my toe. She made us laugh constantly and besides the sharp numbing needles I had no other pain during the procedure. I cannot recommend her enough. If you have any foot problems go see her! "This was the first time I've sought the services of a podiatrist. I vetted at least a dozen podiatrists in the area; I reviewed their websites for the cues which indicate the things that I find important in a medical professional. After narrowing down the list to four doctors, I then looked at their reviews from previous patients on Google, Yelp, and other sites. From this, I made an appointment with Charlotte Foot & Ankle Specialists. My visit was two days ago, and I solidly attest that the comments of all the five-star reviews for Doctor Strauss and her office are spot-on! My experience was outstanding. Dr. Strauss and Robin, the lady at the reception desk, showed keen attention to detail. They noted everything I said, even the most casual remark, and every detail on my patient information form. (I've experienced folks at other medical practices overlooking even prominent info on those forms.) Moreover, I saw excellent communication between Robin and the doctor. Dr. Strauss knew all of the pertinent information I had given Robin, and I didn't have.to repeat myself during the examination. During the exam, I appreciated how Dr. Strauss respected my intelligence. She explained, clearly and directly, the cause of my problem, potential consequences, and method of treatment. She didn't dumb any of it down for me (except she probably left out a medical term or two, saving me the trouble of looking them up later). I'm certain she does this with every patient. It enables the patient to participate in the process, including the decision as to course of treatment. With regard to my own medical issue, Dr. Strauss treated it smoothly, efficiently, and without a twinge of discomfort for me. That's also been the case post-treatment; most of the time I don't feel a thing. I have to join the chorus of the other reviewers in regard to Dr. Strauss' "bedside" manner. She has an engaging style of interacting with the patient. It's not an interview, but a natural and relaxed conversation. She tends to business, but pleasantly, with a side-story or a humourous remark or two. I wish I were as good with people as she is. As other reviewers have remarked, I never felt rushed, even though I knew she had other patients to see. The part of my experience with Dr. Strauss and Robin that I appreciated most was their attitude in dealing with me. I'm comfortable with a more formal approach. I don't want to be treated like family. (Heck, I don't want my family to treat me like family.) I want to be respected as a patient. Both Robin and Dr. Strauss intuited this---I didn't have to make a point of it---and responded accordingly. Bear in mind, that doesn't mean our interaction was sterile and officious. Quite the opposite; they were both gracious and friendly and rather fun to talk with. But they never crossed the line where it became warm hugs and showing pictures of our kids. It was a professional atmosphere with which I was totally at ease. Those who prefer the family approach, though, will find it there. Dr. Strauss and Robin are genuinely good folks, professionals at their work, who care about helping people, and enjoy it."
