CaroMont Urgent Care - Lake Wylie

"I went to this location 2 weeks after a probable pneumonia diagnosis. I had initially been given Albuterol, steroids and an antibiotic and had finished the antibiotic and steroids, but continue to cough and have severe pain in my side that is consistent with pleurisy, which i had 7 years ago and NEVER want to deal with again. I went to the Lake Wylie location out of convenience, but won't make that mistake again. I paid $85 for the NP to come into the room for maybe 5 minutes and tell me I just need to go to my PCP or a pulmonologist. She didn't seem too interested in anything except getting out of the room. Several days later and I feel even worse and am in more pain. Now I have to go to my PCP. I'm confused about why urgent care couldn't handle something my PCP can. Total waste of time and money. Absolutely do not recommend this location."

"In the past they’ve done good by me however, this most recent visit was not it. Staff was friendly, but didn’t write a script to atleast treat the upper respiratory infection I have. Safe to say if Over the counter doesn’t help and it progresses I’ll have to pay money again to get a script that could have been written in the first place. If you’re sick and want to be treated do not go here. Waste of money and time."

"I usually have a good experience at this location but my wife did not today after bringing our son in for ear pain with a history of ear infections. The PA could not visualize his ear drum due to ear wax and refused to treat a kid with a fever and ear pain for an infection because as she stated “that’s bad medicine to treat something I can’t see” - well that’s the definition of medicine and health care. Called his ENT and got him an emergency appointment in Charlotte. They got the ear wax out and saw he had a pretty bad infection. Glad my wife listened to her gut and kept advocating for our son. But wish the PA at the urgent care would have read his chart and trust my wife who knows our son best and is a pediatric nurse. I hope he never needs to go back to this urgent care."

"My daughters were seen by a Nurse practitioner who had already made up her mind that they had the flu. She did not hear any of the symptoms we were providing her and seemed condescending. A strep and flu test was done with negative results. She did not conduct a thorough exam of either daughter and the visit seemed rushed. I'm not sure when medical experts became so neglectful. Very frustrating and disappointing. Will never come again!"

"My Husband was seen by Nurse Practitioner with Symptoms identical to Flu or Sinus Infection. They only did flu and covid tests which came back negative. However she didn't look in his nose ears and only quick glance in his throat. She didn't check his lymph nodes for swelling. In other words a very rushed check up. She didn't prescribe any medications diagnosed him with upper respiratory infection even though he has a severe cough severe head aches and body aches. Three days in He is worse and went today to CVS minute Clinic and was told he has Sinus infection, Bronchitis and was prescribed antibiotics, inhaler and nasal spray. Needless to say we will not be going back to Lake Wylie Urgent Care ."
