"I am compelled to update my previous positive review of JCMC due to the disheartening and consistent breakdown in communication I have experienced over the past seven months. Attempts to communicate through the patient portal have proven futile as messages go unanswered, leaving me in the dark about essential matters. Equally disheartening is the lack of responsiveness to phone calls and voicemails, a trend that has persisted for more than 7 months. This absence of communication has not only caused inconvenience but has also left me feeling neglected as a patient. A particularly distressing incident further exemplifies the severity of the communication breakdown. Following a referral to a specialist for crucial tests, I arrived at the specialist's office only to discover that they did not have the correct orders from JCMC. To exacerbate the situation, the specialist had been attempting to reach JCMC for several days without success. Their calls, like mine, went unanswered, and messages were left unreturned. This lack of coordination not only inconvenienced me but also jeopardized the continuity and quality of my healthcare. Such a failure in communication is not only unprofessional but raises serious concerns about patient safety and the effectiveness of the healthcare system in place at JCMC. I find myself in a difficult position as JCMC is the only medical provider in town that accepts my insurance, and I genuinely appreciate the care provided by my doctor. However, the persistent communication issues have created an untenable situation. A post on a Wilmington community Facebook group about this exact issue had a dozen other patients sharing their identical experiences at JCMC, so I know that I am not alone in these frustrations and concerns. Effective and open communication is fundamental to any healthcare provider-patient relationship, and I implore the management to address these issues."

"I see Dr. Gelinas at JCMC and can’t rave enough about how amazing she is. I have pretty intense health PTSD that has made me feel like I’ve became a hypochondriac. She is thorough and listens to all my concerns and doesn’t make me feel crazy for them, does the testing I need and ask for and calms me down when I get on Dr Google for too long. I feel heard, valued, and seen. She is amazing!!"

"Dr. Galleonis is the BEST pediatrician my daughter has had. She really takes the time to listen to her patients, no matter how small. My daughter has high anxiety regarding the dr and she and her team have been so patient with her for years. We'll never leave. ❤️"

"This office is horrible at communicating with their patients. I had to call the office to confirm if the appointment was still schedule for the day I scheduled for. When I called they didn't pick up and I had to leave a voice message. Which is normal for them. The nurse calls me back the day of my appointment and tells me the provider left early and I have to reschedule my appointment for the 2nd time because of them. Always the same excuse from this office. I understand things come up in people lives but I am a patient who taken the time out of my schedule to go see the doctor. This happened twice so really unprofessional. It's best to go see a provider who is willing to WORK with their patients."
