About the Business
The Ballroom Institute is a premier adult social dance studio located in Marietta, Georgia. Our mission is to help you become a confident and comfortable social dancer in any situation. We offer private one-on-one ballroom dance lessons, group classes, and studio practice parties. Our experienced instructors also provide performance, competition, and travel opportunities, as well as wedding dance lessons.
At The Ballroom Institute, we teach a variety of partnership dances including the elegant Foxtrot, the passionate Rumba, and much more. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or a beginner looking to meet new friends, our studio is the perfect place for you to learn and have fun.

"My husband and I had the best experience working with Mat at the Ballroom Institute. Last minute we decided we wanted to learn something for our wedding so we weren’t just doing the “prom hug” for our first dance. Neither one of us are great dancers but within 2 weeks Mat taught us the basics, along with several tricks. We had a blast throughout the entire experience but the cherry on top was the wedding guest expressions! If you’re on the fence, definitely give it a try. You won’t regret it"
"This studio is amazing!! This review is WAY overdue, and I'm sorry for that. I took lessons with my now-husband early 2022 for our first dance at our wedding, on 6/4/2022. Both of us were novices with no dance lessons prior to coming to The Ballroom Institute. Matt the owner was our personal instructor, and he was so kind and helpful even when we were nervous about learning to dance. He went above and beyond in our lessons, working with our exact song recording so we could get our dance down perfectly. We learned the waltz for our wedding, and learned some other classic ballroom dances at the Friday night parties along the way. Everyone at this studio was kind and welcoming, and even after returning from a hiatus we were warmly welcomed back to the group party.10/10 do recommend! Can't wait to come back too! "My partner and I bought a Groupon for a few lessons, and we were instantly hooked. Mat’s instructional abilities are incredible, and before long we had hired Alan to choreograph our wedding dance. He did an amazing job, and over the course of 13 lessons, taught us a full swing routine to our favorite song. Our friends and family are still talking about it! Thank y’all so much!!"
