"I went in because of pain in my right arm that I have experienced for more than 1 year. I couldn't get an appointment with a doctor for 3 weeks. I live in Murphy about 1.5 hours away. When I arrived to my appointment and gave them my insurance information they refused to see me because they said "you don't have a referral from another doctor". I told them that my insurance does not require a referral. They said, that was their policy and refused service. I called my insurance company who then spoke to them over the phone stating that a referral was not required. The rude woman with the office then stated they would take me but only if the insurance company sent them a fax. The insurance company stated the fax would come from a different department and could take more than 24 hours to send. I left the office for a second time. After leaving, I called the office manager to complain that I jave suffered with this ailment for a year, drove 1.5 hours for the appointment, and if a referral was required they could have informed us of this when we booked the appointment 3 weeks earlier. Interestingly, although they denied me coverage with a great insurance plan, at the time of my arrival they were providing care to a hiker from France who injured his leg. He got care without a referral or US insurance....but they refused my care. The office manager said on the phone I could come back and they would provide care but that the doctor was no longer available...so I saw a PA. I was prescribed a drug for inflammation and a prescription for Physical Therapy. I was told that they would contact me after setting up the physical therapy. It has been more than 1.5 months since my visit and they have still not set up the physical therapy. What a joke. This was the worst care I have ever recieved from any provider in my life. No doctor, no empathy, rude behavior, lack of followup, no physical therapy, etc. But they got their money...that's all they wanted anyway. Would never use them again and suggest others find a different provider."
