Blowing Rock Plus Urgent Care

"Took my daughter for a strep test on a Sunday afternoon because she was horribly sick and nothing else was open. Staff was professional, facility was fine. Got the bill 3 weeks later - $450 in total! They charged me $268 to run a flu test. Called my insurance company but they said that was the negotiated rate with this facility. ASK how much the bill will be before you consent to a basic diagnostic test!"

"This place is a joke. We called ahead for a reservation at noon for my 92 year old grandmother with pneumonia, and nearly 2 hours later we hadn't been called back. The lady at the desk had the gall to say that they didn't make true appointments because then they'd only see 10 people a day instead of 45, but in reality, that's all they'd see anyway at the rate they were going. Do real appointments and stick to them!"

"I would never go back to the Blowing Rock urgent care when sick. The urgent care PA Melanie was horrible. I was left in horrible nausea. Also when I felt I was being distrusted as a patient (horrible thing) I logged a complaint with UNC. They immediately defended the provider. They only took her word. I sat in there for 3 hours sick as hell and Melonie did nothing. I would only go to Dr Devant. He is an amazing doctor."

"I’ve heard great things about BR Urgent Care, so when the regular doctor didn’t have an appointment, my son made one here. 2:00 appointment. At 5:00 pm, they finally called him back. Several that came in after him were taken back way before he was. I understand the medical system is beyond broken, but why offer appointments when it obviously does no good to have one if you’re trying to save time."
