"Let me give my own personal experience with this company. It’s going to be a long and honest one. I signed up for renter through dean when I moved to Alcoa about 2 years ago. We rented the house for a year and everything was great. I ONLY dealt with Lisa during this time. I had a couple questions about switching to auto as I’m nearing the age I need to get off my parents policy (22 so I should already probably be off but ya know, mom and dad are paying so why not). I then dealt with Missy. She seemed very nice at first. Then of course the constant reminders to sign up for auto began. I finally told her I’m not ready as I had some big expenses coming up. She let off. Fantastic. Flash forward to the end of my lease. I buy a house. I have been with State Farm since I was 15 at this point keep in mind. Never filed a claim. I was open with them about the roof needing replaced. When the inspector came out and notified that it did in fact need replaced, they gave me a month to fix it. I found a few contractors able to do it and went with one that didn’t seem shady and was actually insured. They were a few weeks out from their deadline. Missy let me know if I sign a contract with them I would probably still be insured and they would extend my time. That is not the case. She let me know that they would still drop me as of the date and there’s nothing I could do. So beware, State Farm would rather you pick a shady company to fix your roof and then file a claim when it leaks instead of having the job done once and right. Missy then took it upon herself (after I told her not to) to call other insurance companies on MY BEHALF to ask if they would insure me without the roof being new. After I told her I didn’t like that she was “just trying to be helpful”. She also had a very unprofessional attitude, at least through text from what I can only presume was because I didnt sign up for my own auto policy through them. I wound up finding out that a local Allstate agent WOULD cover it without it being done yet because I have the contract. Now comes the refund for my policy. My mailing address with them was my new home I bought. They mailed the check to the old rental house I had. They finally got it switched and mailed a new one. Now I am receiving my parents auto insurance bill when nothing was changed on their policy. Not sure who did it but it was also finally rectified. If you choose to be insured through State Farm I highly recommend against it. If you must, choose a different agent. If you decide to go with this agent only and I mean ONLY talk to Lisa. I will NEVER deal with State Farm again solely because of how dean Jarvis lets his employees handle his business. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 due to the sheer fact Lisa was fantastic. Of it wasn’t for her I can see why they ended in the red for the fiscal year. Do your research and find a different agent. You’ll thank me later."
