Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA Journey

"Upon entering the office my daughter and I felt racially profiled. The women asked how can I help you I asked about a cabin rental she said unfortunately I don’t have any available I in return says according to the website you do she then says well I have one shrugs her shoulders and says and it’s 900$ the week. I said okay thank you. We went to the car feeling violated in ways. I then went on the website and booked a 13 day stay with a full bathroom we continued back in to give the reservation stood online 2 folks ahead of us now we are listening to her give assistance to these folks respectfully telling them about the rules and the bathroom laundry facilities ect. We continue and she says hi I said I have a reservation she said ohh in shock she continues to assist us she said 13 days isn’t allowed I said well it’s booked not my fault web service is wrong. She hands out key and says enjoy your stay. Well 6 days into the stay we have no water no NOTICE nothing informing us. She even booked a man into the cabin next to us not telling him of the water situation he came over to ask us and boy was he furious. It’s now 3 days no hot water no notice of any form . Other than that the cabin is clean and it’s very cold regardless of the heater being on high. I wouldn’t recommend people of color to come here. I do feel this is going to be a civil matter if I’m not reimbursed the difference in my cabin I paid for service I’m not receiving. Think Twice about this place. Hotel next exit over. FYI I’m caucasian. And my daughter is biracial ;)"

"We enjoyed our stay! I’m very glad that didn’t look the bad reviews! Me and the family loved the deluxe cabin. Very clean, spacious and the location is awesome!! Will definitely be back on summer time!"

"Stayed here for 4 weeks to visit my daughter. Nice and clean. Super clean bathrooms and showers. Friendly staff who always had time to wave hi or ask how it was going. Publix within walking distance which is a plus. John's place for a cocktail or to watch the game including a food truck out back. Will come back next year on way to Florida."

"A very warm and efficient welcome by Brady. Ron helped us back into our site and he was extraordinary. What a nice guy! Sites aren't too tight. Plenty of trees. Convenient to Publix. The only negative is having to drive through Charlotte to get here!"

"We are full timers and stayed here 2 nights. Although people complain about KOA prices, we use them because we know what to expect. As expected everything was well maintained. Restrooms were spotless. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. I reserved a back in space and when we arrived were told they had upgraded us to a pull through site at no extra charge. Site was large enough for 36' fifth wheel, truck, and our car fit behind rig. We could have fit a couple more vehicles if we had them. In addition there is a fuel station out front. Had to unhook, but their diesel prices were even cheaper than I could get with my Open Roads discount card. Only problem was that it is a bit of a noisy area-ambulances obviously dispatch from right down the road. Some plane noise, but we've had worse. Thank you for providing above what we expect from KOA."
