BURG'r & BARREL

"While out running errands, my husband spotted Burg'r & Barrel near downtown Johnson City and loved that it is in the old train depot, so after driving around the block a couple of times to figure out where the entrance is, we pulled into the parking lot and were greeted by the deafening blast of some ballgame. However, it was much quieter inside and the interior is really neat with lots of exposed brick. We were immediately seated, but had to wait 7 minutes (I timed it for the purpose of this review) to even be acknowledged by our server. The restaurant was not busy and it looked like they had plenty of servers. He seemed surprised that we were also ready to order our food, so in his defense, he may not have been told we were his table. He brought our drinks out quickly and was appropriately attentive and kept our drink filled. My hubby ordered the bacon burger with half onion straws half fries as his side and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries. Our food came out quickly and was nicely plated. Our sandwiches were on buttered and toasted buns which were still nicely soft on the outside. The fries are the homemade kind and were delicious. The onion straws were to die for - I could have eaten my weight in them. My husband declared his burger one of the best he has eaten since we moved to Johnson City. My pulled pork sandwich was very good and I really liked the BBQ sauce; it was a little sweet and a little spicy. The check came to right at $40 without tip. Overall this was a great lunch and we both agreed we will return"

"We recently had our wedding at the Gather, and I must say that BURGr& Barrel did an outstanding job. From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. The food they served was absolutely delightful, and they provided us with excellent options for the bar, including a signature drink that our guests loved. The setup for the event was impeccable. Everything was arranged beautifully, and I didn't have to worry about a thing. All I had to do was show up and bring any additional decorations or personal touches I wanted. It was such a relief to know that they had everything under control. Our friends and family couldn't stop talking about how amazing the event was. For days after the wedding, they raved about the wonderful time they had and how well the restaurant was set up for our special day. The team at BURGr & Barrel truly went above and beyond to make our event memorable. I highly recommend using BURGr & Barrel at the Gather for any larger events. They take care of every detail and truly deliver an exceptional experience. I am incredibly grateful for everything they did to make our wedding day perfect."

"Honestly the best burger I've ever had! We got the Bacon fest, Mac and cheese burger and the Pimento cheese burger. They were all awesome! Staff was very friendly and everything was very clean. Very cool atmosphere of an old train station. I highly recommend Burg'r & Barrel!"

"This place has the market cornered on flavorful burgers! They cook them right and super fast service. They also have a great cocktail menu and beer selection. Our server was terrific and had all the recommendations ready. We will be a repeat customer for life! We had the Hey Cowboy burger , onion rings and the 1938 burger. Wonderful! **Update: try the Caesar salad.... I know it's a burger place but seriously the best salad and homemade dressing I've ever had!"

"First time at B&B today but definitely won’t be our last. Our server, Todd, was super helpful with his suggestions and very friendly. We loved everything we got. Family friendly, big portions and fair prices…and very clean. The. Hi Jen tenders were fresh and not dry. The burger was cooked to order and not overdone. Do yourself a favor and save room for dessert!"
