"Date night with the hubby. He has been craving fried catfish. This did not disappoint! The fish was crispy and well seasoned. It is served over red beans and rice. So good!"
"We have tried the downtown location and was happy to have one closer to home, we were greeted promptly by the Hostess and seated immediately. Our server Alannah was very friendly and attentive. I like the water that they bring to the table and leave it for you. I ordered the Wade's Pork nachos which were ok but I could have done without the cheddar cheese sauce as it got cold, it kinda congealed and not very appealing. My daughter ordered the burger on Texas toast but the toast became soggy so she only ate the top with her burger. My husband had the hamburger steak plate with Mashed potatoes and green beans. We were checked on several times by the server and a gentleman who appeared to be in management. We will be back to try other menu options."
"The food is excellent however our server was no where to be found after we got our food. The restaurant was not busy at the time. We were ready to get some to go boxes and the check. It was over 20 minutes before the server came back to the table. No explanation as to why there was such a delay was given. The service needs to improve greatly."
"Food was ok, seasoning was light for a southern establishment but everything was cooked well and it did taste good. The menu isn't too extensive but you should find something to peak your interest on the menu. Key lime pie Mason jar desert was good in flavor but difficult to scoop out. Will try again."
"I enjoyed my experience at It’s a Southern Thing. I like that they leave a bottle of water at the table instead of having to have my glass refilled. I ordered the fried green tomatoes- they were incredible! Not greasy, a good amount of pimento cheese and the bacon jam on the side is a wonderfully complimentary flavor. Server was friendly and checked on us just enough. I look forward to going back again."
