"The big double cheeseburgers was good although a bit dry with some burnt area of burger patties. Generic fries. Onion rings were great-- nice and crunchy. Old style drive-in order from car. Somewhat run down. Service was good. It was a nice-different experience. Probably not drive into city to go again."
"Service with smile hot and fresh foods every time. The fish-o-burger is my go too. The fish is nice and flaky not fried too hard, the tartar is more on the savory side and the slaw is vinegar based. put them both on the sandwich with 1.5 packets of ketchup and enjoy."
"The nostalgia of the South 21 is amazing. I did not grow up in Charlotte but went with someone who did and you could see how it makes people happy. The food was good but I think it's getting a little dated. Not that it's bad. The burger was great. I was expecting a little more out of the onion rings. They didn't seem fresh and I really was looking forward to them. I got the Super Boy since you make sure you order the burger they took time to illustrate on the menu. I want to try more but love the American home town I grew up here feel. Amazing. Please don't ever close!"
"I recently had a fantastic experience at South 21, a classic drive-in restaurant in Charlotte on Independence Boulevard. Open since 1955, the service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. The burgers were incredibly fresh, and even the fries were perfect and crispy. The server were so friendly and they remembered me since i have been going there a lot recently hahaha. A true gem for those craving delicious American food with a side of nostalgia. Check out the daily specials !! Not only does South 21 do great in serving fresh and delicious American food, but they also maintain impeccable cleanliness.
