Poe's Tavern

"We visited for dinner. We were seated immediately and our waitress showed up after about 5 minutes. She took our drink order and 10 minutes later, our margaritas were delivered and our food order was taken We had a issue with our margarita'sbwing too bitter and after an additional 10 minute wait for our elusive waitress, I went to the bar to get some triple sec and try to fix the issue. After an additional 15 minutes, I went to the hostess station to ask her to send our waitress as the drinks were still undrinkable. Our waitress presented and I informed her of the bitter drinks She stuck a straw in my cocktail and rather than dip it through the straw and dropper the sample, she literally drank from the glass. Aside from that the food was decent, Atmosphere was average. My boyfriend had the Tell Tale heart burger and I had the chicken salad."

"It was my first time here and I loved every second. Our server Jenna was super friendly and honestly went above and beyond to make sure our experience was flawless. The burger we had was HUGE and definitely worth every penny. The only thing I did not like was the fries but other than that everything else was great. We will definitely be coming back again ."

"Don't let the star rating form an option of our experience at Poe's Tavern. The place was crowded, which should be an exception to my review. Ian our server was very courteous and friendly. However, we had to go to track him down to get our eating utensils and we were told by another staff member that they simply ran out of utensils. Second, we did not receive tea or water refills until we were about to leave. I will attribute this to being busy. I hope you are still reading this...now for the food and drink. We ordered Buffalo Shrimp tacos and potato salad and/or fries. The are the best tacos I have tried. I also ordered the Eleanora, which was a very good drink and complimented the tacos. I plan to return for more tacos and of course another Eleanora."

"I absolutely love Poe's Tavern, and I try to make it every time I vacation at the beach. The service is always incredible. I got a burger with a crabcake, but there are so many unique options. The best part is the atmosphere. Everything is so on theme, including the menu items."

"This is one of my favorite places to eat at Wrightsville Beach. The Chili Con Queso is my favorite appetizer. All of the burger Combinations are delicious. The Annabel Lee & Rue Morgue are two of my favorites. The crab cake that comes on the Annabel Lee is so good they could definitely sale larger versions of that crab cake in a solo dish. The french fries are very good and the onion straws are delicious. This is a must try if you are visiting or live in the area."
