Premier Pediatrics of New York

"I will never get a chance to write a fair review because I was not able to get past the front door. I just had to put this out there in case anyone runs into the situation I came across when trying to have my granddaughter seen by a doctor last Saturday at Premier Pediatrics. Our previous pediatrician retired in the summer, so my granddaughter became a new patient here. I called Premier Pediatrics on Saturday morning because my granddaughter had a high fever, so I tried to get an appointment. The receptionist said fine, come in at 10:30. I then told the receptionist that she was a new patient, and we'd never been there. I wanted to know if I needed to fill out any paperwork before I came in. The receptionist put me on hold and when she came back, told me that she was sorry but they don’t see new patients on Saturdays! I said “so what you’re telling me is a new patient cannot get sick on a Saturday”? She said those are our rules. Imagine if I went there and was presented with this “rule”. OK I said, just do me a favor and please fax over our medical records to a new doctor that I will be getting within a few minutes. I contacted Comprehensive Pediatrics on Hylan Blvd. They took my granddaughter in as a new patient after I told them she had a high fever. She wound up having the flu. The doctor and the staff there were wonderful! So, in case anybody needs to know, these are the “rules” at Premier Pediatrics. The question as to why this was a rule wasn’t answered. I also saw another post on here with this happening to someone else. I’m still scratching my head."

"I have been going to Premier for the past 4 years and I wouldn’t trust my 2 children with anyone else. The front desk associates have always been kind and friendly. My daughter never leaves there without a handful of stickers. The office is very inviting. Each room is decorated with a different theme. Today my daughter was in the shopkins room. She loves looking at the walls and spotting out everything. I have always had a great experience with all of the doctors and staff in the office. They are very knowledgeable, professional, caring and empathetic. I usually have a load of questions at each visit and they are very patient with me and give me great feedback. I would highly recommend premier pediatrics to anyone."

"We have been coming to this practice for seven years. Every practitioner is incredibly kind and conscientious. The secretarial staff and nursing staff are also very kind and helpful. Every single time I need a sick visit, they always get my children in for an appointment. We appreciate them so much that even when we moved, we continue to go there despite it being a longer commute. I have had several instances where my children have been very sick and I needed to use the on call doctor. They are always kind on the phone, and never made me feel like it was an inconvenience, but were happy to help. They have excellent recommendations for specialists and additional practitioners when outside consults are needed. Most importantly is the rapport that my children now have with this office. We would never go anywhere else, and urge you to consider choosing them for your pediatrician. You will be grateful that you did!"

"I left this office after many negative interactions with the secretarial staff and questionable practices by the doctors. I was there for 3.5 years and looking back now I wonder why I stayed as long as I did. 1. My daughter ended up in the hospital after they misdiagnosed her. I had been bringing her there every 2 days for over 10 days with high fevers. They were overwhelmed and brought in a new dr and he looked at her chart and said "oh my god this child needs to be in a hospital". By the time I got to the hospital her fever was 105 and my child was on the verge of liver and kidney failure and had to be admitted overnight to the hospital. Premiere never even called to follow up with us like the hospital said they advised them to. 2. My second daughter was having an allergic reaction and they dragged their feet to put through her prescription. Her skin was on fire from the allergies and I was calling for 7 days straight and every time they said they put it through, meanwhile my pharmacy said they didn't. I finally go in person and they said they had it in the system but nobody told the dr to approve it and did not even apologize. Then as I walk away the secretary staff started talking about me before I even left the room saying they never told me X or did tell me Y. All I wanted was medicine for my kid and their main concern was covering themselves for when the Dr found out. I could have gotten very upset, like many people would have, but I did not want to do that. 3. I took my daughter to another dr when she had covid while we were traveling. That dr asked for a copy of my daughters records so I had PP send it over. I called about 6 weeks later to make an appointment for my daughter that had a 103 fever. They said I wasn't allowed back there because once I signed that paper to have the records sent over I was not allowed to come back. They said it was their policy. I asked for a copy of the paperwork I signed so I can see where their policy is stated and the girl actually laughed at me (while I was choking up in tears) and told me that I can have my lawyer request it in writing, and then she hung up on me. These are just the top 3 things. I can think of many other things, including doctors who stab used syringes into the couches during appointments, rooms that I have watched patients leave and not be cleaned in between. One dr told me when my daughter was having trouble sleeping to let her cry it out and put on some led Zeppelin to drown out her cries. They advertise their injectables for the mothers more than they state their policies or focus on caring for the actual child. I think the message is clear. If you stay there long enough you're bound to see what I am talking about."
