Dr. Tara Balija

Dr. Tara Balija is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in Breast Surgical Oncology. Located at 250 Old Hook Road in Westwood, New Jersey, Dr. Balija is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. With a focus on treating patients with breast cancer and benign high-risk conditions, she is dedicated to developing personalized treatment plans in collaboration with her patients. Dr. Balija is skilled in advanced techniques such as nipple-sparing mastectomies and oncoplastic procedures to minimize scarring. She received her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed her residency at Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Prior to joining Mount Sinai, she practiced at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she also served as Director of the Breast Cancer Assessment and Risk Evaluation Program.
