"I was counseled by Karen Glick for 2 and a half years. She came highly recommended by another therapist. She may seem rough around the edges but that is because she has devoted 15+ years of her life to people suffering addiction in Paterson. Therapists deal with a lot of emotions from different people and therapy becomes an open wound in some cases. If you are not aware of that then therapy may not be a good option right now for you. She also has very strict rules and guidelines because she is working with unstable people (such as myself) and needs to remain consistent in the rules she lays down for her office. She cares a great deal about her patients, but also needs to sustain herself by making money. If you miss an appointment she loses more because insurance is not covering it, which is why the late fee is so high. I adored her as a therapist and credit her for a lot of my healing . For a long time I felt unheard and she helped me scream so that everyone can hear. Abide by her rules, treat her appointments the same way you would treat chemotherapy, because mental illness is practically a cancer. Take your therapy seriously and you will see results."

"After a couple months of going regularly and building a trusted relationship I was feeling a cold coming on so I politely cancelled in text at 1:17 pm telling of my symptoms and not wanting to pass my germs. My sessions was to be at 10:45am the next day. I said I’d thought it would be best to cancel as she is clearly a bit of a germ conscious person. She mentioned her cancellation policy of 24 hours to which I said at 21 hours oh if it’s a problem I can come. She said no please don’t as she didn’t want that for her sake and mine. Long story short I am busy and rescheduling that session was not an option she charged me for not being there. So if you have an emergency make sure you are up to the minute for a cancellation. 24 hrs is taken very literally here. Good Luck."

"This was the least professional woman I have ever met. She has cursed at me, blamed me for her scheduling conflicts, and even went so far as to threaten me with action against my family if I did not have my husband see one of her associates. I would not recommend her to anyone."
