About the Business

Scenic Hudson's Long Dock Park, located at 23 Long Dock Road in Beacon, New York, is a 19-acre park and tourist attraction with a rich history. Once a bustling terminal for ferrying rail cars across the river, the area has been transformed into a popular destination for outdoor activities and relaxation.
Visitors to Long Dock Park can enjoy launching kayaks, picnicking, strolling through rehabilitated wetlands and meadows, fishing, exploring sculptures, and simply taking in the scenic views of the river. The park's 19th-century red barn now serves as Scenic Hudson's River Center, hosting arts and environmental education activities.
Hudson River Expeditions offers kayak and paddleboard rentals at the park, and there are free electric vehicle charging stations available for park users. In light of COVID-19, special events and group outings must be pre-approved to ensure the health and safety of visitors.
After exploring Long Dock Park, visitors can check out the shops and eateries along Beacon's Main Street, visit Dia:Beacon museum, or learn about the history of Beacon's first European settler, Catheryna "Madam" Brett, at her 1709 house.
Since 1963, Scenic Hudson has been connecting people with the inspirational power of the Hudson River, and Long Dock Park continues to be a beloved destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Share your photos of the park and be part of the scenic Hudson experience!
Reviews
"Such a dreamy park! We visited when it was almost time for sunset, and there was this beautiful mist hanging above the river and it just looked so gorgeous. There is a parking lot right outside and we easily got a spot. There are multiple paths around the park leading to different areas, all of them along the Hudson River. Overall the park is definitely worth a visit and it completed our memorable visit to the beautiful city of Beacon."
"Beautiful transformation!! Its hard to believe that this place was once contributing to the poisoning of the Hudson river. This has a great view of storm king and is one of the locations for the Hudson river art school rubbing medallion. Some times there will be a improv drum circle that plays into the night."
"Great place to take the kids, take the dog for a walk, fish, or go for a bike ride. Park is usually pretty empty. Plenty of parking and lots of trails to wander around."
"Beautiful, long strolls down marked pathways. Waterfront is amazing. There was plenty of room for playing, runs, hikes, yoga or just sitting and enjoying the young man playing on the meditation bowls."
"The trail is easy to do for families with young children with views of the Hudson river. You can spot a few wild birds on the trail. We wanted to spot some bald eagles but it is not the place for that. We did see some vultures and cranes. The trail goes up to dennings point(better for viewing eagles), but it is a restricted area. It gets windy and cold in April. So dress appropriately. The park has a deck to view the river closely. Parking is mostly available. Summer days can get busy."
