The initial visit with a female doctor resulted in a prescription for Motazol, which Theo took for a week. While the infection seemed to improve, I noticed a drastic change in his behavior. After eight years of enthusiastic greetings and barks at the door, [Dog's Name] became withdrawn and lethargic, spending most of his time upstairs. This concerned me deeply, especially when he no longer startled or reacted to loud noises, unlike our other dog. Given the potential seriousness of sudden hearing loss, I immediately contacted the hospital on a Saturday afternoon, leaving a voice message for the doctor. When I received no response by Monday, I called again. The receptionist offered a same-day appointment, but at an extra fee. Instead of speaking with our vet, I was able to speak to the hospital owner, who dismissively stated that hearing loss from medication was unheard of. To my growing alarm, the owner exploded, insisting it wasn't their fault and shoving all responsibility onto the medication manufacturer. When I pleaded for answers, begging to know if the hearing loss was temporary or permanent, and if there was anything the doctor could do immediately, he simply dismissively repeated, "I don't think he lost hearing. I don't know what to do. Shocked by his lack of concern and expertise, I requested an immediate examination to rule out any treatable causes. However, the owner was fully booked and simply recommended waiting until Thursday for the female doctor, contradicting the receptionist's earlier offer. Frustrated and deeply worried about Theo, I felt my concerns were disregarded and dismissed. The owner's lack of empathy, dismissive attitude, and inability to offer immediate assistance solidified my decision to seek care elsewhere. This experience at Clifton Ave Animal Hospital was not only disappointing but also concerning. The lack of urgency, questionable knowledge, and disregard for my pet's well-being raise serious concerns about the quality of care offered. "Clifton Animal Hospital is our go to vet for reliable service for our fur babies. It’s hard to find a team that cares for such big dogs- we have two female pit bulls. Not only do they take care of all their vaccines and wellness appointments, we’ve had tumors removed, cancer screenings, and even grooming. Very professional service, fair prices and they are always very thorough with after care. They even call you the day after to see how your pets are doing. All while our babies are treated with love, patience & tender loving care. We don’t trust them with anyone else. If you need a vet team that can do it all, this is the place!"
