"Stay far away from this place. There’s no price transparency, subpar communication with their customers, and sloppy rushed work by a largely inexperienced young crew (with the exception of one or two of the guys who were actually knowledgeable and helpful). They’ll nickel and dime you, charge for chemicals you have on hand as many of the younger inexperienced guys in their weekly crew forget to check the sun box, and then they hit you with a bill with inflated charges for things like salt (not writing the prices on the ticket they leave behind so you can be surprised later). On so many occasions the pool and spa were far from clean when they left for the week. You have to watch over them to make sure certain things get done. Full disclosure there was a slow leak (not their fault, but it was only discovered/diagnosed by a different pool company) which did contribute to occasional algae issues, but even just basic leaf vacuuming was not done where it was properly clean. Basic stuff. They couldn’t find a few of the pegs that hold the pool cover on, they were about to give up and just drill new pegs into my pavers (and charge for that) until I helped them look and found them. Then as part of the end of season closing, the water line needed to come down below the tile line (to prevent tile damage in winter), but they asked me to do that at first (why am I paying you to close my pool if I have to be involved in closing it), then finally agreed to do it but they were already scheduled to close the pool, so they covered it first (because pumping the water would take a while….. this should’ve been planned out by them before putting the cover on). So they came back and put the pump in to lower the water level after the cover had been closed (saying they’d come back to take it out after they finished all their seasonal closings). surprise, they never came back and the pump is still in the pool under the cover with the hose hanging out months later, but they did remember to hit me with the year end bill full of over charges for chemicals I have sitting in my deck box unused, along with a nice “convenience fee” for paying with a credit card (which was never charged to me on other prior charges for my contract or maintenance service calls). Also I’m not 100% certain auto charging the credit card without customer authorization is entirely legal. It was a comedy of errors all summer, this is just a snippet. Don’t waste your money or time, and don’t trust these guys with your pool. There are other companies nearby where chems are included all-in where I’d have spent a lot less than my contract price plus all the inflated chem charges. RE: For Shore’s reply. No one cares how many pools you service. On more than one occasion I’ve heard staff tell me you service 1000 pools (as an excuse for not being able to address something as they had to run to another house), now it’s 1,500, but why do I care how many pools you service; this just tells me you’re overwhelmed and not staffed enough to handle that many pools. Hire more people. And there’s no price transparency. No dollar figures were on the service tickets the many times you charged me for chems I had in the deck box literally two feet next to the filter (I had to ask mid season), which I told your office that’s where the chems were so I don’t want to hear they were searching near and far for chemicals. I also work from home and came out on many days to greet them and let them know I was there if they needed anything. I had the chems and salt on hand. One time they left the deck box wide open for it to rain into. And the pool pump is still in the pool as we speak, that was the icing on the cake. I guess I’ll be taking that out myself. Merry Christmas."
"We’ve used For Shore pools for several years. They’ve been great with any issue we’ve had, big or small. I recommend them 150%."
"I highly recommend For Shore Pools. I called because my filter turned on but didn't work. Al directed me on what to do and within 5 minutes my filter was working. My new go to place and booked my pool closing with them. Thank you Al!"
"This is our first year with For Shore Pools and we could not be more satisfied with their service. The opening went smoothly but we had a problem after and their response was immediate. Today Nikko arrived and walked us through the entire process of cleaning the filter cartidge. He was so patient, professional and understanding of our ineptness!!! We are so happy to be with a company that truly understand the idea of cusomer service!!! Thank you!!!"
"Lauren in billing is unprofessional and disrespectful. We won't be using Fore Shore Pools again because of her. 4/20 Paul - I will not call Lauren and apologize. She should call me and apologize. You should apologize for losing my debit card information. Instead of doing that, like a normal company, she insisted that since it wasn't in my file I never gave it to you. That's crazy. You should take customers personal card information seriously. Instead, Annie forwarded my husband the email exchange thinking he was my boss and tried to have me fired. You guys are crazy."
