Summit Hill

"Living here was severely detrimental to my mental health and I can't recommend it unless you are able to deal with excessive noise. The walls and floors are so thin that my downstairs (!) neighbor's footfalls made our apartment shake. I had to sleep with earplugs as I could hear people's kids screaming and stomping around in units I didn't even share walls with! If you live near the entrance there is constant highway noise. The landscaping not immediately visible from the entrance is ignored and there were broken fences and muddy areas outside our door that were never improved upon. Said landscapers also visited frequently with excessively loud leaf blowers. I'm giving two stars because maintenance was very friendly and usually quite fast. They also did not return our security deposit when we moved out (edit: finally got it back late)"

"Great apartment in a great location. The apartments are very large. I was able to fit an elliptical, a dining room table, 2 couches, a coffee table, and a dumbbell weight rack and still had plenty of room. Dog friendly, they recently added a dog run too which is great to be able to let my dog run off leash. The gym is one of the best gyms you’ll get for a gym that is included in your rent. Having a pool and a tennis court is also amazing when it starts to get nice out. Everything is very clean. Parking is easy, and you’re so close to the highways that getting places is so easy. Margaret is new in the office and has been very responsive and helpful, a great addition to the staff. The supers are very quick to fix any issues that may arise but honestly I think they only had to come to my apartment 2 times in the 3.5 years I was here."

"We have been living at Summit Hill for a little over three years and have been very happy. Before moving here, we did an exhaustive search of rental complexes in the area and found that Summit Hill is heads & shoulders above the rest, because of the amenities offered, the management and the units themselves. Our apartment was totally renovated upon move-in, with a modern, stylish renovated kitchen - new cabinetry and flooring, granite kitchen counter tops and new stainless appliances. We also have an in-unit washer & dryer which is a big plus. It has an open, spacious floor plan with great exposure. And the closet space is incredible - especially the HUGE walk-in MBR closet. You'd be hard pressed to find this kind of storage anywhere else. The property and grounds are lovely and well cared for, with walking trails leading to Briant Park. The fitness center boasts state-of-the art equipment and is housed in a really nice clubhouse right next to the tennis courts. The pool, like everything on the property, is beautifully maintained. And, speaking of maintenance, the staff is very responsive - repair requests are usually completed same-day. Summit Hill's location is also extremely convenient - it's tranquil and private, yet minutes to downtown Summit, Millburn and Westfield, and very close NJ Transit Midtown direct trains and bus lines to NYC."

"I had lived at Summit Hill for five years. While they have changed management during my time, the quality of service was never impacted. Repairs were always completed in a timely manner and staff was always responsive. Highly recommend. It also doesn't hurt that the club house gym has a Peloton!"

"This place was great under Segal & Segal, but since the new owners took over nothing has been acceptable. It's obvious to existing residence that the new owners do not care about them at all. Repairs take months to complete, despite constant emails and phone calls. Large repairs don't happen as on-site maintenance has their hands tied with contractors. The price is absurd for the small size of the apartment and the grounds are always covered with contractor trash. It seems like these new owners are trying to have high end apartments, but they are building them on an old foundation. Today, they started to install what can only be described as top-of-the-line stadium lights. It is apparent they will be changing every light in the complex to these over bright, hurtful to look at lights. I'm positive every bedroom will be affected. I will be leaving here as soon as possible. I'm sure the owners will be happy to shoddily renovate the apartment and raise the rent by $600, as I found out by checking the prices on their website."
