"I’ve lived here for 9+ years and have tolerated the declining quality of building because of convenience. But this year they have raised my rent +10%. Colin and Jenna who run the leasing office are 2 of the most incompetent people I’ve ever met. They sit in their closed offices all day and no one answers the phones or emails. I very much keep to myself and use only my apartment. From the previous tenant that was never fixed, my apartment has patchy dry wall, cracked tiles, peeling counters and cabinets - all veneer, and chipped doors. I’ve issues with appliances, most recently I didn’t have a working dishwasher for over a month. For this rent that is unacceptable. The garbage rooms are constantly overflowing. Dogs are always barking. Doors to the outside don’t lock. If you are on the ground floor or second floor you will have bugs - centipedes and crickets. Also the building has carpet beetles on all floors. I’ve asked for an exterminator but had hire one myself. Windows don’t get washed. Pot is smoked in stairways and in common spaces. Packages go missing constantly. The pool is closed more often than open. The courtyard common area is always filled with smokers (pot, cigarette or cigar) and drunk people. Random people linger outside windows on the lower level and homeless sleep in the stairwells in the winter. They rent out “corporate” apartments that are filled with people who are noisy, loud and disrespectful to their neighbors because they are not bound to the lease. When you ask the leasing office for help with this or anything they either don’t respond or play dumb. If you’re going pay high rent prices, move into one of the newer apartment buildings with better management companies. Edit: Colin's comments below are not true. I have emails going back years. The maintenance request system does not work for on-going problems. And only "urgent" requests are answered."

"Before I go into my full review, I have to say that I love living here and I don’t think that the current google rating accurately reflects the current management team or quality. You’ll notice if you go to other apartment websites you will see a much more fair rating for Sofi. Another important side note, there has been major change in management in the past year and I believe this has helped the complex immensely with customer service and overall quality of living! Okay onto my full review, I have lived in Sofi Morristown for over 2 1/2 years and this is my favorite place to live in New Jersey by far! Not only is Morristown a beautiful, young, safe, fun, and foodie spot, but the location of this apartment complex is the best in town. The property manager, Collin, and the assistant property manager, Jenna, are always positive and willing to go the extra mile for their tenants. They are available to chat in person, by phone, or by email and make the exchange very warm and friendly if I ever need anything. These two are helpful with sending out reminders, updates, and general communications regarding our “home” because they are always trying to make the experience here a more enjoyable one. The team recently installed a gourmet coffee machine offered 24 hours a day now, not to mention the newly renovated club room, office space, gym, new hallway carpet, and the walls got a fresh coat of paint. There is a package locker on the first floor, so you can have peace of mind that your package is secure. The team also helps with overflow packages during the holidays so even in the craziest times, finding what you need is easy. Outside we have a very social area with a pool and hot tub in which we just got additional pool chairs this summer along with a fire pit that has beautiful ambient lighting and grills for summer cookouts! I have made many friends living in this building and one of the main reasons is because the team is always hosting events from ice cream nights, to burgers, art shows for charity, and partnering with local businesses like Godfather pizza and Cambridge wines. So if you’re looking for a lively and welcoming community that has somewhat regular events, you’ve found the right place. I can think of 10 people/friends off the top of my head that I could text if I ever needed anything. I used to live at an Avalon in Wharton before moving here and that was okay but this is a younger crowd where you’re sure to make friends! Like any apartment I have had a few maintenance requests. the process is quick, I put in a request online and receive a prompt response; sometimes within the same hour or day, for non-emergencies at that! Both maintenance guys, Lloyd and George are extremely helpful. They listen to my exact concern, make sure I’m happy with the result, and are willing to accommodate in any way they can. They keep tools, and supplies on site so my requests have always been fixed quickly. There is also a very friendly gentleman that helps with our trash removal, Scott; and he’s always smiling too! This entire Sofi team makes living here so simple and easy. Ohh and I forgot to mention the security! There is secure parking in the garage with staff and gates, there are on site security guards that I will see from time to time, and I feel safe as a woman walking in the building at night. I feel good about the town renovations too, walking along Morris street into town (south street) is well lit and much nicer than a few years back when the strip mall was next door. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Sofi and want to continue living here because of the people, the new + fresh environment, and the great location to town. Thank you Sofi team!"
