"I would strongly urge you to avoid doing business with Speedway Van Lines. We found them to be highly unethical, misleading, and not trustworthy. Here is a quick recap of our experience: We identified Speedway Van Lines because of very favorable reviews on the Angie’s list for moving companies. They were very professional and organized when they came to pick up our household goods and we were told they were going to store our possessions, in a temperature-controlled warehouse until our new home was built. Things started out well and we paid them 50% of the fees, $4,000.00 when they picked up all of our household possessions. Fast forward 6 months later, and the new home construction was delayed. We thought everything was fine, but apparently their warehouse had gotten flooded in Hurricane Ida in September 2021. They simply discarded our possessions without any notice, or chance to mitigate the loss; all of our furniture including the Restoration Hardware leather Living room set was simply thrown away. Most of our wardrobe was also discarded, a small number of soaking wet clothes and soaked possessions were delivered in March 2022. The only notice we had about the damage and loss came verbally when we scheduled the delivery and they said “a few of the larger pieces of furniture were on a lower level and were flooded and discarded in September”. They then requested an additional $2,000.00 payment to delivery our possessions. My wife and I spent an entire day of the delivery with the delivery crew, everything was soaked and moldy, almost all furniture had already been discarded and most of the items delivered were ruined, all the family pictures, Kid-items, ornaments etc. were all very moldy, ruined and needed to be discarded. My wife was in tears the entire day. As horrible as this situation was, Speedway’s management conduct was unethical, dishonest and deceitful. It was clear from the items delivered everything had been gone through and repackaged wet. Many items were simply missing, presumably taken during that inspection and repacking, or stolen somewhere along the line. The Speedway pick-up team person Diego was the only person we worked with. He kept referring to his manager, and the Speedway owner, throughout the conversations. A as it turns out, we are now suing and have learned he is the sole legal agent listed for the company with the State of NJ, and most likely the owner (it’s a private company you cannot tell that from the filing). Diego concocted numerous stories through this process to deny or delay any accountability by Speedway. They still have never provided a formal writing that our possessions were damaged by a storm. The bogus promise that the Speedway owners would “make things right” was total farce. We paid them $4,000 the day they collected the possessions, they lost nearly everything we owned. So essentially, they think it fair and just that they take and ruin everything in our home, lie and mislead us.. For all I know they have a beautiful Restoration Hardware leather living-room set in the home, there was no formal acknowledgement, and no accounting from Speedway Van Lines for the loss. No matter how careful you may be, bad things can still happen; however, if a company deliberately and consistently acts unethically, like the Speedway Management team, they make a bad situation much worse. They are not trustworthy or ethical, if there are any complications with your move you will find yourself in a very difficult situation. I would strongly suggest you find a better qualified moving company, don’t trust your possession to Speedway Van Lines. I have seen the owners response. Unethical people always ask for understanding and reasonableness with no intention of responding in the same manner. Speedway Van Lines is a party you should avoid at all costs. Make sure you have pictures, receipts and insurance, they are not ethical or honest people to work with."

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT HIRE SPEEDWAY VAN LINES OF NJ OR ANY OF THEIR PARTNER COMPANIES! We booked them for a cross country move and the entire experience from beginning to end was unbelievably HORRENDOUS. They give you an estimate WITHOUT physically assessing what needs to be moved. BAIT & SWITCH in every way possible. It was a NIGHTMARE in its literal sense. The company is unprofessional and NOT fit to be a moving company. Pickup driver arrived with a small U-Haul truck and WITHOUT any tools or supplies needed to pack. We felt completely trapped. The company representative hired 2 local guys to take our stuff to a local storage facility. They did NOT label any of our furniture or boxes and told us that they would do that at the storage facility which they NEVER did. When we finally received our furniture and boxes at the destination, nothing was labelled. Extremely POOR Execution. The owner of the company would talk to you really nicely until you made the down payment, then he became rude and condescending every time we spoke. They NEVER delivered on any of their promises. We were informed that the driver of the delivery truck would inform us when the truck leaves our state, then he/she will inform us 3-days prior to arrival and then again, the morning of the arrival. NONE of this happened. There was ZERO communication and we had to call so many times to get updates which Speedway Van Lines could not provide us with, since they contract other moving companies/truck drivers and they had no contact with that driver. What an utter disaster. We made several appointments with our landlord about the delivery of our furniture & boxes and had to cancel and reschedule many times. They outsource/contract out their moves to other companies/long distance truck drivers so you don't know which company/driver is going to drop off and when. The "supposed" delivery driver randomly called us one day saying he will be dropping off our "Load" that day. We were shocked to learn this since we were at work, had not heard anything about the delivery before that call and thus the delivery window with our landlord had not been reserved. At the time of booking, we asked them if they used their "OWN" trucks with Speedway Van Lines written on them. They LIED to and said "YES", again just to get us to sign the contract. We found Speedway Van Lines its owners, associates and drivers as deceitful! Extremely POOR Communication. We were promised that they would assemble everything that was disassembled upon pick up. Speedway sent a representative to collect our belongings (that were left in storage by the unknown driver) and deliver them to us. He was late again for hours and hours and we almost lost our delivery window. Again, the representative showed up in a U-Haul truck with 2 local kids who were not at all careful handling our furniture and belongings. They showed up with NO TOOLS to assemble anything and we had to lend our tools to them and help with the assembly. This is a joke of a company and business. They refused to take away all the boxes and trash, which we specifically asked during our initial consultation and the owner had confirmed that yes, they would! They damaged some of our furniture and several of our boxes were soaking wet as if they were left in the rain Needless to say the contents in those boxes were ruined. As if this was not enough, they LOST one of our main big boxes containing our precious belongings and several items that had HUGE sentimental and emotional value-IRREPLACEABLE. The co-owner of Speedway Van Lines promised us that he would contact the truck driver (of some random company that they used) and will get back to us with their findings in regards to our box that they had lost. Until to date, the co-owner has not gotten back to us and we now know that he NEVER will. We will be calling an attorney and we are going to report them to the BBB. Please DO NOT HIRE SPEEDWAY VAN LINES OR ANY OF THEIR PARTNER COMPANIES! In response to the OWNER's response: Yes, YOU ARE the COMPANY based in NJ that we hired!"

"I would give 0 stars if I could. DO NOT use Speedway Van lines. Speedway stored my items in August 2021. Their facility flooded in September 2021, but they did not tell me that it flooded until January 2022, about two weeks prior to my move out of state. They threw out 37 of my boxes and nine pieces of furniture. They continued to charge me storage on my belongings they threw out! They told me they would deliver everything that was salvaged, but most things that were delivered (including 14 pieces of furniture) arrived moldy. Speedway tampered (repacked) 17 of my remaining 40 boxes, but everything in those boxes arrived riddled with mold and river filth as well. They also tried to give me other peoples furniture and belongings! Crazy! Their insurance company asked me to document and put a price on each item. I have lost over $30,000 worth of furniture, antiques, clothing, photo albums, etc. Their settlement offer is $1,404. If you value your belongings, move them yourselves or keep shopping."

"I hired Speedway for a coast-to-coast move in June 2022 because they did a great job from the East Coast to the West Coast three years. Now, three years later, what a disaster!! It took 97 days (15 weeks) for them to move the contents of a studio apartment from Northern CA to the Boston area!! During that time, we were told different stories and lies each week — resulting in so much inconvenience and stress that this review is to warn anyone considering Speedway to stay away. The company did take some money off the total cost, but it wasn't enough to make up for the amount we did have to pay, the aggravation, huge inconvenience, lack of communication, lies. and 3-month delay. I don't know what happened to this company over the last three years. but I highly recommend you find someone else for your move."

"The Google reviews should add ‘no star’ as an option since that is the rating the Speedway Van Lines deserves. I hired the company to move and store my property and as you can see from the only photos, they were delivered damaged beyond repair. Speedway made sure the balance was paid in advance in CASH since that would not provide me any recourse against them. For the damages, they offered me $210. The actual value of destroyed furniture was excess of $6000. The Speedway ceased to respond to my request for communication. I strongly advise that you should search and hire an alternate moving company."
