"When I go there I buy wine or liquor, unless it’s Christmas, then I go wild and bring home both kinds of expensive quaffable libations to imbibe. The most enjoyable part of any visit to Palmieri Wines is eavesdropping on the middle aged men standing around the tasting barrel whilst they verbally spar with each other about their extensive knowledge of the wine industry. I often pretend to be enthralled by the label on the back of a good Pinot Noir, but really I’m rooting for the next take down of someone’s favorite wine or cheering on my chosen team as they tell how they visited a vineyard in your favorite region … years before you did… or trying not to laugh as they sigh and wistfully reminisce about your go to wine … but a better vintage. Go prepared for battle."
