ShopRite Pharmacy of Somerset 435 Elizabeth Avenue, Franklin Township, NJ 08873

"I visited ShopRite on Elizabeth Avenue in Somerset on 9/5/23 around 3:00pm and was waiting to get a flu shot. After filling out the paperwork, I was asked to wait. After 7-8 minutes of waiting, I went to the pharmacist and asked how much longer I should wait. The Pharmacist sarcastically said, 'why are you catching a plane’. I responded to him by saying ‘it is none of your business’. After I said that, the Pharmacist turned to me and said "now you are pissing me off and I am not going to give you the flu shot". I was shocked and humiliated by this and I immediately went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. I explained the whole situation to her. She asked me to wait and after a few minutes, then told me to go back to the pharmacy and said that I would get the flu shot. The Pharmacist refused again saying ‘She is not my boss and I won’t give you the shot'. I went back to the front desk and and requested to speak to the manager again. This time it was a senior manager and I explained to him what has happened. He asked me to walk with him the the pharmacy, went inside the pharmacy and talked to the pharamacist for a couple of minutes. The pharmacist then came out and gave me the flu shot. Although both the pharmacist and the senior manager apologized to me, this experience was very humiliating, especially since other shoppers were looking at me when the pharmacist yelled and said 'I am not giving you your shot'. I felt like I was treated like a criminal; this incident made me feel very depressed. I am a senior citizen of Indian descent, who has been living in this country for 48 years, and I can't remember the last time I was treated this way. I have been a regular customer of this pharmacy for almost two decades, but I will not be returning again. Unfortunately I did not get the pharmacist's name, but I do hope that they feel some consequences for their actions."
